Here’s the thing with Trump - whomever he speaks to last about a topic will have impact. He is such a lazy fucking moron that in order to appear intelligent, he’ll hold tightly to the last coherent thought to penetrate his brain. Witness his pivot on parts of ACA after meeting with Obama. So Obama has a chance to bend the damage curve down some. Sadly, once he’s gone, Donald will be surrounded be team evil 24/7.

The Republicans in Congress and the lobbyists must be licking their chops, knowing that Trump is in a bind, and that they can plant just about anyone they want in the Administration.
In a strange way, however, this gives me hope. This will probably be the most completely dysfunctional Administration since some of those 19th Century non-entity Presidents, caretakers who didn’t try to do much of anything. But instead of placid inaction, we’ll get endless infighting, no one actually in charge, etc., etc. Either way, not much gets done, and when it comes to a Trump Administration, less is definitely more.
I also wonder how long it will take for President Second Place to get fed up with the demands upon his valuable time, and to start vanishing for long stretches. Lottery: pick the date on which Trump will announce that the needs of his personal empire can no longer be ignored, and that he’s resigning. I’m not sure how he’ll spin this as a personal victory, but he’ll find a way.
