Discussion: WSJ: Obama To Spend More Time Than Is Typical Aiding Trump Transition

Uh-oh. Someone took the weekend off from his meds. Again.

Trump aides were described by those people as unaware that the entire presidential staff working in the West Wing had to be replaced at the end of Mr. Obama’s term*****

**** and were embarrassed about it until Giuliani said ā€œThis is great! Now we can ask Judge Curiel to postpone the Trump University trial in San Diego until after he is President. Because hiring a whole entire White House staff…that will take him a long time given his short attention span!ā€

The most disappointing thing I’ve ever read about Mr.Obama…

See y’all. This particular poster has finally shown who (and what) he really is. Took awhile, but there it is.

I do believe that Pres Obama believes he can appeal to Trump’s ā€œbetter angels.ā€ That he can do something to block out the masters that the Trump puppet has chosen to control his presidency. I do not believe he will be successful, but I thank him for trying.

I think there’s a lot to what you say, but the ā€œlazy main stream pressā€ has totally misread the import of Trump’'s ACA statement that he would keep the ā€œAge 26ā€ and the ā€œPrior Conditionsā€ provisions in the law. Republicans have been saying this for years.

I think if PBO makes Trump consider the impact on his adoring fans if entitlements were stripped, then that may have a lasting impact on the orange menace. Everyone loves him, in his mind, and he wouldn’t want to risk losing the adoration of the low info voters in trailer parks across Appalachia and the upper midwest.

The Republicans don’t have the votes in the Senate to get any substantial changes in either Social Security and Medicare. And if they should try, those efforts should be great organizing tools for Democrats. Of course, the ā€œorganizedā€ Democratic party is more into crying than fighting.

Fantasy. Nice fantasy, but fantasy nevertheless. I believe that neither Obama nor any of his staff should do anything special for Trump.

ā€œFirst of all, Donald,ā€ the president slowly explained, ā€œyou may want to get a more nuanced map.ā€

ā€œBut Barron’s already colored it in. Me and Bannon even helped him label it. And it looks terrific. It’s a terrific map. Believe me.ā€

Why is it disappointing? Do you think it will be a waste of time for President Obama to coach or advise Trump?

Trump will soon find out how snake-infested DC really is, and he will have to contend with back-stabbers, sweet-talkers, and double-crossers.

President Obama maybe the only one willing to talk straight to him, without self-interest.

Frankly, I’d love for President Trump to be Obama’s Manchurian Candidate. I know it’s a lot to hope for, but perhaps he can influence him in some small way.

Hey wait a minute! I’m in ā€œTarget Civiliansā€ā€”he’d better redo that map!

You know, back in 2013, when pundits were talking about how Glenn Greenwald’s polemics about the surveillance state under President Obama, and how he attacked Obama from the left, there was a lot of talk about how the far left and the far right were beginning to coalesce.

The thinking back then was that a nominally ā€œanti-warā€ anti-drone warfare candidate would emerge from the Right wing and peel off enough disaffected liberals to win an election.

Back then, I thought the outcome of that coalition would be a President Rand Paul, or some libertarian spouting free market economics and isolationist foreign policy but who was a liberal on social issues.

This ā€œomaā€ guy seems to be one of the shock troops mobilized to attack conventional Republicans and centrist Democrats in favor of a radical nihilist.

I think Obama is going to simultaneously overwhelm and scare the shit out of the Orange One.

ā€œAre you sure I don’t get to keep your staff?ā€ he’ll mew.

Well, here’s hoping Pres. Obama surprises the Repub grift game and supplants Pence in reality.

I’m thinking that having Barack in the mix cannot hurt.

And I am hoping that Obama will ignore those who say he should steer clear of Trump and let his administration crash and burn.

This is our country we are talking about.

Hey, go back and look at that election map again. I’m sick and tired of folks placing all the blame on certain specific geographic or demographic groups. When you suggest that low info voters (and racists and bigots or anyone else who voted for HO) are only to be found in certain areas, etc., then you have your head in the sand. Suggesting that only certain subgroups are this way allows you to consider that it is not your problem, it’s just ā€œthoseā€ people.

Well, wake up and smell the coffee. ā€œThoseā€ people are in your hometown, they are in your neighborhood, they are teaching your children, they are in your government, and they are in your police forces.

Assuming that only ā€œlow info voters in trailersā€¦ā€ are the problem may be why HO will be installed as Pres.
