You know about the continental divide? All the rivers and lakes on the west drain into the Pacific, and all the rivers and lakes on the east drain to the Atlantic or the gulf?

There’s a similar socioeconomic divide. Above that divide, you generally fail upward. Below that divide, you fail downward.

One owner buying thousands of apartments is similar to vulture capitalists buying companies. Once in a while it results in needed change. Usually it results in increased pressure because of the price paid to reduce costs in every way and then sell it off. If there are any rent stabilization laws applying to these apartments there will be a huge push to get rid of those tenants. There are all kinds of tactics used, like constant noise and dust from renovations, loss of heating or hot water for periods of time, entry doors left unlocked and door bells not working, and many more. If no rent laws, then still pressure to get rid of existing tenants and get new ones paying much more rent if these are in an inflating rental market.

The reason that big companies buy large numbers of residential units is because they think there are ways to radically increase rents and reduce costs one way or another.

So , the $1.1B is being laundered . Wonder who`s getting the money ?

OPM or “other people’s money” as from those Kashoggi killers and greasy stinkin’ desert oil patch types of financiers…including Russian “tourist” money…the ones with the cash as cash is king, as in the King of Saudi Arabia, the one who wants an A-bomb.

Remember when Kushner orchestrated Saudia Arabia, UAE and others to impose an economic blockade on Qater?

Well, it worked:

It’s a done deal as of August 3, 2018:

Brookfield Properties announced Friday afternoon that it has acquired a 100% leasehold interest in the building, a 1.5 million square foot property at 666 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, for 99 years through one of its funds. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

I remember reading about it at the time. We all know that if his father in law was not the president, it would still be a stone around his neck.

Added:

Brookfield, which has major real estate holdings around the world, said it’s planning a significant redevelopment of the building.
The building carries $1.4 billion in debt, the bulk of which comes due in February 2019.

I know for a fact that the kushners had no access to the capital markets before this deal w the Qatar’s. Zippo. Because I know the guy who cut them off.

No question in my mind this is as corrupt as anything. The only question is what is Trump’s cut in this.
