Discussion: With VP Announcement Postponed, It's Unclear If Trump Has Decided

This is all just another crappy reality show to Donnie Drumpf…

Keep Pence dangling just long enough to screw up his campaign for governor–Excellent move, Democratic-secret-agent Trump.

ā€œHe emphasized that Trump postponed the event out of respect for the victims of the attack in Franceā€¦ā€

I call bullshit on this one

With all the crap going on in the world, this little reality show of d-list politicians jumping through hoops and juggling brings some welcome levity.

I see an opening for Palin or Ernst.
I don’t expect Pence to sacrifice one chance without hearing about the other. Gingrich and Christie are both so bad—obviously bad—that we can have a really fun random pick. Kris Kobach?

Reading this article and all that was going through my head is Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball. Trump either didn’t get the reaction he wanted from choosing Pence or he feels he’s been bigfooted by the Nice attacks and now wants to flip the script. That might explain why Newt is now screaming about deporting Muslims. Either way, I seriously question if he’s going to choose Pence.

Try to imagine Trump conducting international negotiations on just about anything. He can’t even manage a process in which he has the right to make a unilateral decision without sending mixed messages and confusing and pissing off the contenders.

If Pence drops out of the Gov race after the deadline and then he doesn’t get picked for the VP, that’ll just be two-fer!

They’ve got about an hour and a half.

This man cannot even choose and announce a running mate without screwing up the whole process. We cannot put him in charge of our country. As Charlie Pierce said: This isn’t funny anymore. American democracy is at stake.

From what I’ve read, it might be better if Pence stays in the governor race. Will he win?

ā€œHe was moved by what happened last night,ā€ Manafort said. "It affected him and emotionally he — the carnage in Paris

Um…I would take you much more seriously if you even knew where the damn terrorist act occurred. Sheesh!

ā€œRespect for the victimsā€ might include knowing where it happened.

He’s postponing the VP announcement only because he doesn’t want to step on his demagoguery of Muslims in the aftermath of Nice.

Yet again, Trump’s playing the media and presscorp like a cheap flügelhorn.

I think he’ll win but, in reality, a Republican Pet Rock would have an easier go of it.

I bet Gingrich’s last minute inflammatory, bigoted, probably kinda racist, wildly unconstitutional, fascist, Muslim purity test idea put him back in the running.

The tell will be whether Pence dumps his run for governor.

Of course, The Donald is perfectly capable of letting him do that and then announcing that he’s chosen someone else to go down to defeat alongside him.

He spoke to Gov. Christie after 4pm in what was described as a ā€˜tense’ conversation where a Pence pick was discussed but a final decision was not communicated.

Sounds to me like he may have been stringing Christie along giving him the impression that Christie actually had a chance. Then reality sets in. No more picking up lunch for Mr. Trump, then?
