Discussion: With Final Victory, Democrats Complete Stunning House Seat Pickup In CA

“four Republican-held House districts all or partly in Orange County, once a nationally known GOP stronghold, will have shifted in one election to the Democratic column.”

That’s so historic, it may be the biggest take-away from this whole election season.

Lifestyles of the rich and famous DEMOCRATS!

Republicans finally and completely lost their California Reagan mojo, now all those west-coast world-shakers are turning total-blue.

Trump’s contempt for the Hollywood he hates and envies all in one instance has always been one of his personal motivations. Those are the people he wants to be a peer among, but he can’t even make it into their fold as President, he’s just too goofy to qualify so he’s permanently stuck in that public place two stations below celebrity, where failed politicians tend to dwell perpetually.

Even after his disastrous term in office, Trump will never ascend to the celebrity heights he deludes himself that he belongs in. He’s the biggest wannabe to ever serve as President, and it didn’t even make him “special” like he so desperately imagines he should be.

The DNC would like to give a hardy thanks to Donald J. Trump. He did it, he made Cal. blue.

Cisneros, 47, a $266 million lottery jackpot winner

Cisneros […] described his interest in Congress as an extension of his time in the military

On health care, he talked about his mother who went without insurance for 16 years.

Certainly hopeful – and whoever recruited him to run as a Democrat may also deserve a medal.

Because he’s too fundamentally lazy and narcissistic to buckle down and master the basic elements of the job. Reagan was a good enough actor to fake it when required; Trump isn’t.

And Democrats are so bad a managing that California has a 15 billion dollar budget surplus.

While Republicans in Washington are running up a trillion dollar deficit during a boom. What will that number soar to when the next recession comes as it inevitably will?

And in the name of
This lottery winner
I’ll sit in Congress to
Represent myself

“While the election delivered mixed results around the U.S.” - Why is this line still being repeated? It’s been a blue wave, despite a few disappointments. I would say the Democrats only underperformed in Florida, and with the ex-felon enfranchisement hopefully this was the last time that state f*cks it up for the rest of the country.

California has many non-anglos. Orange county is home to many Asians. My speculation (I don’t really know what I’m talking about) is that many Orange county Asians usually vote Republican, but they would not favour white nationalism taking control.

Exactly. So tired of that narrative. Blue Wave, Blue Wave!

Anyone know the count of Dem House gains so far?

@playitagainrowlf and I are in his district. Can’t speak for my fellow poster, but I ADORE GIL. He is out and about in the community— he’s come to my Kiwanis Club meeting ( which has a membership of 13) TWICE in the last year — not to speak or present but just sit among members because the club is strictly nonpartisan. I also ran into him and his wife and kids (twin boys) after a 5k put on by a charitable foundation that supports local schools — he and I both ran it.

  1. 3 seats are still undecided and I believe the Rs are narrowly ahead in all 3. All of those were R seats before, so the gain will be between 38 and 41.

That may be tested with the fires

That’s good. As I went to bed in the wee hours of the morning on election night,I was thinking 35 would be the max. 38 provides a good cushion.
