Fascist monkey see, fascist monkey slings poo
Kavanaugh and Caravan, huh? Thanks a bunch, Newt.
Hosanna! We’ve found the one Republican in America that understands optics. And like @cervantes said, "Maybe that’s why they made him chair of the Education Committee. "
This isn’t so much about separation of powers or even ‘optics.’ It’s mainly about completely ignoring the right to vote and its straightforward result. The voters didn’t vote for a legislature that would diminish the powers of the Governor they just put in office. I am sure this was not an open cselling point for Republicans during the election: don’t worry; if Evers wins, we’ll curtail his powers. What Republicans are doing essentially is saying screw you to the voters. We will prevail , no matter who you vote for. It’s one way to undermine the desire to vote, as well as outright manipulation of government. Can you see the cries of outrage if Democrats tried this. I guess you really do need to have no shame at all and apparently lots of people are that way. They’re called Republicans in the era of Trump.
And remember when Ryan et. al. said that they would keep Trump in check if he were to win? Yeah, how’s that going…
From Trump to the GOP dominated Congress, to the state GOPs such as those in Wisconsin, Georgia, Kansas, Texas, North Carolina, and all the other “red” (didn’t that used to mean “Communist?”) states, it has become very clear that the Republicans have absolutely no interest in democracy, our Constitution, nor American Freedom
Is it Wisconsin that has the singing protesters?
Excellent rant. And don’t forget triggering the libs! They’d rather trigger libs than have healthcare, decent schools, or a clean environment. This is Trump’s entire appeal: spite.
Yes! Damn near every day over lunch. I love 'em but they would drive me crazy if I worked there. They’re not the most… skilled singers shall we say.
Missouri Republicans have been doing this to MO voters for awhile now. We dutifully go and vote on amendments and propositions and then they come back into session and over ride the vote outcome.
Sounds like we make all politics national.
Do this in Wisconsin? Fine. Let’s do the same in Massachusetts*.
*Not going to bother looking it up, but assuming it’s split right now
If they put an iota of this power-grabbing creativity and resourcefulness into actually trying to help people …
Desperation is spelled G.O.P.
@lastroth
They vow to continue through Walker’s last day, and perhaps even longer.
“There’s some obligation on a governor in that situation to not just be a partisan player anymore and be a protector of the office, and I hope the governor does that,” Doyle said. “I think that’s how many governors would see it. You’re no longer just a party operative, you’re somebody who has to look at the bigger picture.”
Excuse me while I pick myself up from offa the floor and catch my breath, I’ve been laughing so hard…
Will they be using the stadium foot stomping for percussion?
So glad that Margret and Helen are still blogging. They cheer me up!
I have not heard that, I doubt they would be able to keep the beat very well. They’re mostly retired white folks, not known for their syncopation skills (sorry if that seems racist/ageist, but… they’re very sweet people; wouldn’t want any broken hips). Occasional drums, assorted other instruments come and go (gotta have a banjo for ‘Union Maid!’).
Sleaze just oozes out of these people, hope they dont slip on the scummy trail they are leaving behind themselves…their families must be so proud.pillars of the community.
Can the Wisconsin leg stomp on the people like that? Can they shred their state Constitution like that??
