Excuse me, an elected official should no longer be a party operative the moment he or she takes the oath of office. At that point, elected officials are supposed to serve all of their constituents.

Jim Doyle is a good man, and good AG (led the tobacco lawsuits back in the day), but he was a big nothing as governor. I suspect this quote reveals that he just didn’t grasp what he was up against.

Wait, a $100M tax break to save 500 jobs? That’s $200,000 per employee! How about just offer each of them $200,000 to find a new job. That’s 6+ years of a $30,000/yr job. I’d bet every damn one of them would jump at that.

Former Democratic Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle told The Associated Press on Thursday that he hopes Walker will protect the powers of the office for his successor, Evers.
If you’re hoping that Scott “Hollow Shell” Walker will choose the path of principle and doing what is right for the common good, and not the path of narrow partisan advantage and outright cheating, then that is a very slim reed you’re clutching.

I just can’t care about WI anymore. Since they absolutely insist on turning WI into a failed state, let 'em compete with WV or Mississippi for worst education, worst social mobility, shortest life expectancy, etc.

Yes, Wisconsin Republicans lost a few state-wide elections but made gains in both legislative chambers.

In a very perverse way I love the story of the dead brothel owner being re-elected, but it wasn’t exactly a surprise. It’s a conservative district, brothels are big business, he was Mr. Big, so to speak, and so what if he repeatedly abused and raped at least one of his employees. His campaign manager said the “Kavanaugh thing” played in his favor.
NOTICE OF DEATH OF CANDIDATE signs were posted near polling places. Voters said meh.

Changing the rules after you lose the election to achieve an undemocratic result is what you do when the combined gerrymandering, shortened voting hours, onerous voter ID, and other voter suppression tactics are simply not enough.

i have zero sympathy for the people of wisconsin…they stood by for 8 years allowing walker and the repiglicons to do anything they wanted.
and still after he screwed them over and over costing the tax payer billions of dollars that he gave to corporations…killing unions…schools/teachers etc…they still made his defeat a nail biter.
