Discussion: Why Did NBC Pull Ayman Mohyeldin From Gaza?

Discussion for article #225246

Mohyeldin’s exceptional reporting should be a coup for NBC News. But something tells me that his less than flattering coverage of Israel’s aggression has rankled some biased members of NBC News’ brass.

‘CNN correspondent Diana Magnay was re-assigned to Moscow after she referred to a group of Israelis who cheered the bombing of Gaza on Thursday as “scum.”’

You left out the part where they threatened her. That is very highly relevant.

Journalism by Twatter? No, thank you.

Seems any truth telling by the reporters about zionist aggressions gets negatively rewarded:

It’s a big difference being at ground zero than being in a studio we see,but we all knew that. You can’t be around such carnage and not be moved emotionally. And it seems the more the MSM is keeping this story one sided people are not stupid, rational thinking people I might add.

Anything critical of Israel is punishable by termination.

Doubtful that it is.

Bullshit.

Why does criticism of the Israelis translate to antisemitism? Get over it.

How is that bullshit? You just did it.

A little honest reporting from the msm would be welcomed. But instead the head honchos in the front offices of these corporate media networks would rather sensor than report, Spare me the media’s unconditional love for the state of Israel!!!

NBC & CNN must be taking their cues from Netanyahu & the Jewish organization in America who what to control the facts.

Rick Sanchez was right, the Jews own the media and they dictate what is
reported and what’s not. No one is supposed to criticize Israel. That
can not be tolerated!!!

That wasn’t a criticism of Israel; it was a criticism of Jews–and one that has a long and clear antisemitism history.

Duly noted. But there does appear to be a pattern as to what is going on in corporate media. First the CNN reporter and now Mohyeldin

I criticize actions by the Israeli government all the time—they do lots of stupid shit.

But his comment was classic antisemitic racism, because it was a blanket statement unsupported by facts.

And you’re taking your cues from Hamas, the group whose stated objective is the destruction of Israel and the killing of all Jews.

See—we can all play that game.

They threatened her because they wanted to intimidate the media coverage of the invasion. Looks like they succeeded.

Yet another sign cable news has become irrelevant. About five million Americans watch all cable news shows combined. Rank exclusion of those with whom you disagree can only go so far. We all know too much now. The greatest threat to the free world is the embarrassment caused to leaders when they are so transparently hypocritical and dodgy with the facts.

Israel is in a terrible pickle, one it keeps recreating for itself over and over, mainly through complete daft blindness to the ongoing settlement of land they just came in and took. There’s not going to be any easy atonement for that. Firing a reporter isn’t going to budge Israel one step closer to peace.

To continue to fund any madness in the Middle East does so at the expense far more urgent priorities at home. Yet Dick Durbin just rushed through a doubling of aid for the Iron Dome project. There was no debate.

American arms dealing really has no place in the 21st century we want. Israel can take care of itself.
