Nuh-uh! You can’t threaten voter rights and then claim, “hey it was only a joke”. The posting was the threat, whether they had the actual means or intention to suppress voters.
You can’t call someone up in the middle of the night and say “I’m going to kill your family” then call back and say “Kidding!”

That’s what I was going to say. Wisconsin statutes are very specific about what constitutes a threat to voter rights and this crossed the line by a mile.
They are likely trying to cover their asses by pretending it was a joke. I saw the original page, before it was dumped the first time and there’s no way I believe it was a joke.
Milwaukee DA is on the case now. They’ll be found and prosecuted.

He moonlights a lot.
One or two morons…plus the rest of the boys…does make up a domestic militia. The most cunning get the ball rolling until they get caught with their pants down. The rest of them follow suit. It makes them all feel brave while it lasts.
It’s terrorism. You can’t cry “fire!” in a crowded theater, and you can’t outline precisely how you’re going to intimidate voters who think differently than you and then say it’s just a joke.

Yep - that’s how intimidation works. Anything more than that becomes assault, battery, kidnapping, etc.

The whole thing looked ridiculous to me from the beginning. People are such credulous chumps, really. They will believe anything.
Without actual, conservative, wannabe militiamen who really do parade their dumb asses around restaurants, stores and schools, with imitation machine guns strapped so tightly to their beer bellies that they’d be easily shot in the face before they could even shoulder the weapon in a real situation, hoaxes like this would be completely implausible.
