Trump will accept any deal. He always blusters and folds like a cheap suit claiming victory in the process. Not once has he ever stood his ground. Chuck and Nancy have played him like a violin.

It’s come out from the records on Flynn that he was lying to keep from talking about how you were pulling the strings on the negotiations with Kislyak for them not to respond until you could get in and end the sanctions the Obama admin put in place to punish the Russians for attacking our election to help you. Then walls you should be concerned about are the ones falling in on you.

Given the expanded envelope of stupid expediency at the WH and possibilities we must now entertain, it seems worth considering Trump thinks he will buy time on the various problems he’s facing by paralyzing the federal government.

I don’t even think he really wants the wall, he just claims to so he has something to whine about.
I suspected that he would eventually come to understand that there was no way to get out of this without looking weak, and having to cave in after a shutdown just looks even worse. The only problem now is that the general coverage is already casting him as backing down, and aren’t buying his face-saving claim that he will get the money from other sources. If he sees any of that, he might feel that he has to go back to shutdown just to change the headlines. The real question is what do his advisors on Fox and Friends say?
Just watch. They’re going to screw it up just because they can’t get their acts together.

I think he is crass enough to trigger a shutdown and still go off to Mar-a-lago for the holidays. He has no scruples or sense of shame. The only thing guiding him here is his fear of looking weak.

Sorry Sarah, but your boss said he proudly owned the shut down so the ball’s in his court. Time for him to fold like a wet noodle. We all know he is a coward.
He wants to tell his base he’s kept this sacred promise to protect them from the drugs and gangs and so forth. If he weren’t in trouble he might blow it off, but he’s desperate to keep at least the base happy for obvious reasons.
Too late…he is weak. It was trump’s decision to lose any dignity and bargaining power. He blew it by owning the shut down. Nothing can change that or spin it. He said it happily and on camera in front of even Fox News which he accepts at face value. So therefore it by definition cannot be fake.
trump has forced himself to build this wall. This boondoggle. It’s beyond stupid in the first place. The Chinese tried it. So did the Germans. On a 2000 mile border it just won’t work. It’s a monument to stupid insanity. It won’t keep out the thousands of brown skinned babies he so fears.
