Discussion: White House Says It's Premature To Discuss If Trump Will Pardon Flynn

You are tripping. FOX News has been rambling since Trump took office that Hillary would be indicted by Trump’s DOJ. Has it happened? Do you understand that the game plan is to TALK about it, but not do it since there is nothing to indict her for. Trump could tell Sessions right now to indict Hillary if he wanted to, but he doesn’t do it, even though FOX talks about it non-stop. Same with all that other stuff you are posting from FOX. That’s nonsense to get ratings. And Trump parrots it, but he can’t act on it. Only complain about how powerless he is to do anything…

The only way Trump would pardon Flynn would be if Trump wanted to end his presidency very soon, and he has WAY too much ego for that. If he pardons Flynn, Congress immediately makes Mueller untouchable, and Impeachment would not be that far off. Plus Mueller very likely already has sworn statements from Flynn as part of the plea deal, which Flynn with then testify to. So even if he pardons Flynn, those sworn statements are still evidence. And then when people see what was in them, and that Trump pardoned him, Trumps ratings will tank big time. When ratings are low enough, he will be impeached. The House is the hard part too. Once impeached, I guarantee the Senate will get 2/3 to convict. Plenty of Republican Senators would love to see him gone. Hell, the VP wants him gone too.

No, Mike Flynn will not be pardoned this week. But Trump will be impeached and convicted I’d say next summer or maybe fall.

I think that’s one of the tactics that Mueller is using. He can turn around and charge Flynn with a number of other things and I know Flynn knows that.

You are not required to accept a pardon, are you?

Nope.

Mueller still has Flynn’s son as leverage.

Yes he does so I think Flynn is pretty much in one of those traps where any move he makes causes a rope somewhere on his body to get tighter.

Obviously it just occured to me that PP could pardon him, and he could refuse. That would be a great day in the comment threads.

Wouldn’t the pardon then open Flynn to spilling his guts without fear of reprisal from the government? The pardon is an admission of guilt, right? So how does that help the idiot in thief?

@khyber900, looks like you answered my questions - jumped the gun, I did.

Superceeding indictments coming on Manafort assoc. Gates.

It doesn’t so Mueller could use Flynn’s son as leverage to make him spill his guts because the 5th would no longer apply and he’d be forced to answer questions.

So it would be both the stupidest thing Trump could do and the stupidest thing Flynn could do to accept a partdon

I’ll say, as in all likelihood you’ll be out of office before you get a chance to do that.

Gawd damn! These reporters are making it so difficult for SHS to continuously LIE to them, yet they always find a way!

When trump pardons anyone in this then Mueller can compel them to answer questions because then the 5th amendment is bypassed.

I love your post, but I think the pardons will be later, after they’ve had a chance to see which little fish get caught in the net, or after the 2018 mid-terms more likely. If they start pardoning now, then Mueller has a chance to change his tactics and the Democrats have their poster children for the election. Trump wouldn’t give a shit, but enough of his little rats on the boat know not to chew through the hull.

Ummm. Yes. We can’t say that they’re wrong about the optics not mattering, can we? As an example, I give you the sanctimonious bible-humping tiny-gun-toting dimwit know as Roy “banned from the local Mall” Moore. Having that “Good Christian Values-based candidate” accused by multiple credible women as being a serial sexual predator of children should surely count as “less than ideal optics”, and yet the GOP stands by him, sends him money, and hopes he wins against a perfectly qualified heroic Prosecutor. And the polls suggest he may well win. Optics, child-molesting, lying, treason, NOTHING matters to Republicans.

So… you’re trying to say you assume that’s what’ll happen?

(Because stupid is all over these guys like smell on dog-droppings.)

I think Mueller may have just sudo’d into the sys log …

My sense is that Trump is more likely to fire Mueller than go down the drip, drip, drip of pardoning all parties involved in Trump-Russia.

Could be unintentional candor, but I’d bet on mere sloppiness.
