Discussion: White House: 'Premature' To Talk Gun Control In Wake Of Las Vegas Shooting

Its all about the donor class of gun manufacturers giving ludicrous amounts of money to politicians for their campaigns, primarily Republicans, that do their bidding in exchange for that steady stream of blood money.

I think it was Jesus who said when asked to heal the lepers, “Verily now is nigh the time to heal thine unclean self. Now is the time to unite in holy navel-gazing and give thanks to the Lord that you still have most of thine fingers and some of thine toes.”

“I think we need to look at things that actually have that real impact.”

What things? They keep saying that after all these shootings.

Hey, Sarah. Fuck you with a North Korean ICBM.

One has to wonder how much innocent blood letting will it take for these folks to confess that it is time, indeed well past the time, to discuss, legislate, and act?

“Premature?” As predictable as a morning twit.

This whole ‘it’s too soon’ argument is akin to saying there’s no reason to discuss fire safety in the kitchen, after a grease fire has burned the kitchen, because dinner won’t be ready on time.

This is exactly when the topic of guns, mental illness and all the rest of it should be put on the table. This is the same tone-deaf nonsense we’ve been hearing since BEFORE Sandy Hook made it clear that, even after a dozen or more children were killed in a school shooting, we Americans were apparently ok with rampant, unfettered gun ownership.

Good Lord, they’re already talking about doing away with the limitation on the mentally ill from getting a weapon. Where does it stop? Where does it start?

All this shooting needed was a good guy with a gun on the 32nd floor of an adjacent building in the line of sight. Simple!

Chicago is the wingnut go-to for this subject.
What they never mention are the incredibly lax gun laws in Indiana and other states bordering Illinois–***-which is where most of the guns used in Chicago come from.***

We Georgians are so proud to do our part send so many illegal guns onto the streets of Chicago so that people will feel safe and protected wherever they go

If not for the guns shipped by civil liberties advocates (otherwise known as “street vendors”) via the “Iron Pipeline” from free-gun states to those where the jackboot of big government has crushed the gun-bearing fingers of ordinary citizens, then the citizens of Chicago would have no freedoms at all! The Iron Pipeline is a regular, modern-day Underground Railroad.

And yet, if there was even the hint that the shooter was anything more tan than an albino, or a Muslim, it would have been exactly the right time to talk about terrorism and travel bans…

It’s also ironic from the wah-wah-libruls-are-snowflakes crowd.

Too soon to talk about gun control? What, are you afraid somebody might be offended? How very PC of you.

Of course the press then followed up and asked “when will it be mature to ask about it?”

“There’s currently an open and ongoing law enforcement investigation,” she said. “A motive is yet to be determined, and it would be premature for us to discuss policy when we don’t fully know all of the facts or what took place last night.”

We know a motive would have already been determined and all of the facts would have been known if Paddock were a brown guy.

So Sarah, can you give me the date and time when we can have that conversation?

The President is more than willing to send his 'warmest condolences" (beyond awkward - total contradiction of words. The equivalent of “I feel so good about your tragedy”) and hold a moment of silence while the tragedy is ongoing, plus schedule a trip to Las Vegas, but he has not set the date and time for the most important conversation.

We can expect that conversation beginning Thursday at 10a ET?

(I’m not holding my breath)
