The White House Personnel Security Office, which is staffed by career officials, would have — may have received information, but they had not completed their process and made a recommendation to the White House for adjudication.”

And there you have it: blame it on the careerists. Career officials has become Shitstain shorthand for “Deep State Operatives who are trying to bring me down!” Better fire everyone - institutional knowledge and experience is for suckers!

And Trump is still being audited.

…ongoing at the time of his resignation.

As in he hasn’t and won’t pass so we claimed we were still checking to keep him on a temp pass like Jared and Ivanka who we didn’t want to draw attention to.

Why is it that everything read from a written statement sounds like it’s coming from Stephen Miller’s voice?

“Career officials”? What’s she talking about? We all know Jared’s handling that.

It’s not like the White House Security Personnel Office is supervised by the…White House or anything. And Sanders still didn’t explain why not only did they not fire Porter, but were actually going to give him a promotion!! You’d think they’d make an effort to speak with either the FBI or personnel office before they did so. Keep in mind, this is a dude who could not get a security clearance and was about to be prompted.

Of course, when the President is a bonafide Russian asset, does security clearances for his minions even matter?

Q: how do you know they’re “the best people” if you don’t pay a single fucking lick of attention to their background checks or their criminal histories or FBI/OPM investigations or…?

Pretty funny that Sarah mentioned that security check was same one used for decades and maybe it needs to be changed. Uhhhh no, you just need to find decent trustworthy folks.

Like all Trump scandals, this is now spiraling outwards and beginning to engulf the Mormon church. Latest is that 20 women have now stated the Church encouraged them to stay with their abusers.

So Porter and Sorenson take a fall (deservedly so), Kelly may yet do so, and the Mormon Church has to come clean regarding its actions. Yet the Moron-in-Chief rolls on without a care. At least until November or Mueller, whichever comes first.

I’m not up on regular press briefing protocols, but if you’re going to read a canned statement scapegoating a WH office, if you were truly intending to be sincere, wouldn’t you bring along a spokesperson for the office in question to field follow-up questions? And even if you had no intention of being honest, at least they could presumably come up with lies that provide a veneer of plausible deniability, rather than looking like you were caught flat-footed.

“I’m not aware of any communication,” Sanders said. “I can’t say definitively. But I’m not aware of any communication.”

According to my sources, she then broke out into song:

I’m not aware of too many things
I know what I know if you know what I mean.

Somebody please “choke [her] in the shallow waters before [she] gets too deep.”

Only in this upside down Trump world is “career officials” an epithet and “partisan political hack” a compliment.

“White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied on Tuesday that the Trump administration’s account of the background check for a former staffer accused of domestic violence differed from the FBI’s account.”

Ms. Sanders also asserted that 3 equals 5.
