Discussion: White House Defends Bannon's Newly-Granted NatSec Council Membership

Yes, but my thinking is that his ass wouldn’t pass a basic background check.

“White House Defends Bannon’s Newly-Granted NatSec Council Membership”

Ja, no doubt with a full choirs of the Horst Wessel Lied. I wonder if the White House staff is planning a torchlight parade before the book burning?

Someone may have mentioned this already, but appointing Bannon to NSC without the advice and consent of Senate is apparently illegal. This is important, call/write to your Senator about it asap:

I haven’t seen this yet. Thanks! I’m writing my MoC.

Donnie cannot stomach having anyone on the SC with the temerity to challenge him when he impulsively proposes another of his idiotic Executive Orders.

One would hope so but doesn’t he already have to have a security clearance to do what he is doing?

The DNI chief too. Heck, who needs the military or intelligence chiefs for national security?

Bannon is in charge. He’s in charge more than Cheney was in charge. Kushner must have been knee-capped if he didn’t protest the excision of Jews from the holocaust-- he’s the grandson of a Holocaust survivor. Bannon’s part of a holocaust-denying group. We can see who is in charge.

Spicer said “having the chief strategist for the president in those meetings who has a significant military background to help make — guide what the president’s final analysis is going to be is crucial.”

The Draft Dodger President needs the White Nationalist Propaganda Editor who was a naval officer earlier in his life. Which qualifies him for jack shit in terms of the National Security Council. We have an unqualified President filling the NSC with his yes men.

A few months ago I suggested that KAC and Bannon had hijacked Swamps campaign for their own purpose, I fear I am right…

I’m sure that the former Ensign Bannon has a huge grasp of military affairs.

Bannon and his pet monkey should be impeached,

The entire clearance and security system is ultimately established by the authority of the president. He can declassify whatever material he damn pleases, and issue clearances to whomever he damn pleases. Sane presidents don’t make arbitrary and capricious decisions about that kind of stuff, but then we knew that already.

Point.

Not to have the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs sit in as a permanent member of the NSC is madness. We are dealing with a level of paranoia and secrecy unprecedented in American history. Trump is, literally, out of his mind.

I think we’re missing something here (though I have not read all the comments so perhaps this has been mentioned)–Trump does not have the attention span or intellect to follow what would be discussed in a NatSec meeting, so since he couldn’t include Ivanka he chose his puppet master to be there and keep track of what’s being discussed. Bannon will let Donald know if there is something he needs to do, and what and how to do it. Think baby sitter. Our president is not a grown up, capable person.
