Discussion: ‘Where Are The Babies, Mitch?’: McConnell Protested At Restaurant

Oh, the incivility. Let him pack the Supreme Court in peace.

You should ask someone who gives a fuck
It sure ain’t Mitch
They’re just collateral damage on the path to making the rich richer

McConnell was once of the moderate Republican stripe who was aghast at the Bircher types who engaged in the Mink Coat riots in Texas and harassment on the floor of the 1964 RNC convention. Now he’s become one of them and it comes back to bite him.
And Madame Nhu also doesn’t seem too pleased.

Kidnapping children for extortion is proving unpopular with the constituents with normal emotional responses.

Mitch McConnell has none such, so he won’t care.

I’m not a hand-wringer on this incivility stuff. He’s condoned absolutely astonishing crimes. If it wasn’t rude and offensive to hang war criminals at Nuremberg it isn’t uncivil to yell at them when they’re walking down a sidewalk. However, comparing people to animals they may resemble still rubs me the wrong way. He may well look like a turtle, but that’s not his fault. Looking like a turtle is more unfortunate than wrong or bad. It doesn’t advance your argument to point it out. Call him a kidnaper. That really ought to be enough.

Let’s remember that Mitch McConnell is a public servant, with emphasis on the “public.” Second, he enables a President who thrives on dividing this country with the most hateful rhetoric and policies. There is bound to be fallout, especially in a society that, at least for the time being, still cherishes and protects free speech. I’ll save my sympathies for all those who have been harmed (sometimes irreparably) by Trump, McConnell, Ryan, and their ilk. And as for McConnell’s jeans, I hear his shoes had a party and invited the tops of his pants down.

I’m glad my fellow Louisvillian’s are shaming Mitch but I wish they wouldn’t be so stupid as to say, “We know where you live.” You can say a of things to Mitch, and we all know where his Louisville home is, (he’s rarely ever there) but don’t be so stupid as to fall into the trap of threats that could blow back in a bad way.

That particular restaurant in that particular hipster neighborhood makes me think he was baiting as it is pretty rare to see Mitch outside a place that isn’t private or an event without security. Usually it’s Republican only events he goes to, hardly ever an open public forum, much less free wheeling in The Highlands neighborhood though his house isn’t too far from there.

Other than that, carry on.

except a “turtle-head” has nothing to do with a turtle!

If only Alison Lundergan Grimes hadn’t self immolated on her vote for Obama…

Meanwhile, Louisville’s Democratic and supposedly liberal mayor, Greg Fischer, is getting ready to oust the ICE protestors. We’ll remember this in May when you’re fighting a dozen much better Democrats in the gubernatorial primary, Greg.

No where near as bad as what the tea baggers did to our congressmen when they were trying to pass a health care bill:

WASHINGTON — Demonstrators outside the U.S. Capitol, angry over the proposed health care bill, shouted “nigger” Saturday at U.S. Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia congressman and civil rights icon who was nearly beaten to death during an Alabama march in the 1960s.

Protesters also shouted obscenities at other members of the Congressional Black Caucus, spat on at least one black lawmaker and confronted an openly gay congressman with taunts.

Capitol Police escorted the members of Congress into the Capitol after the confrontation. At least one demonstrator was reported arrested.

“They were shouting, sort of harassing,” Lewis said. “But, it’s okay, I’ve faced this before. It reminded me of the 60s. It was a lot of downright hate and anger and people being downright mean.”

I think my point remains valid and will gladly stipulate that we all understand we’re talking about resemblance and not McConnell’s literally being a turtle.

That primary already happened May 22, 2018 so I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Did you miss that vote?
This past Saturday there were about 1,000 abolish ICE protesters vs about 100 pro ICE morons…did you miss that too?

Angela Leet is the Republican candidate, she is my metro council member. Although she is “ok” as far as Rs go, no way would I vote for her. Fischer has been a decent mayor and if we end up with an R mayor we are fucked so take your bot shit or purity pony nonsense and go sit in the corner.

Camping out downtown in tents is also counter productive so find better ways to make your voice heard.

Truly the dumbest comment on this thread if you are real and a lame bot attempt if you’re not.

What’s not to like? They’re very cool. I’d think turtles would be offended by the comparison more than Mitch.

Nothing Trump has done has been as electric as family separations. The Russian Trolls are having a hard time defending it on social media.

Yesterday the local Kansas City news had a segment showing how bad Trump’s trade wars are impacting the local economy. Think about that, the local news said Trump’s policies are hurting us locally. Of course they are but the loca action news isn’t supposed to report it. The local action news has one job and one job only, scare suburban white people by endless shots and stories of crime in the black inner city.

Claire McCaskill has run with a really damning series of hearings and town halls focused on a plant down in Poplar Bluff that makes about 1/2 of all nails produced domestically. The Mexican steel tariff has nearly put the plant out of business. That community voted 70% for Trump and he rewards them by taking their jobs. Those town halls are getting play on the local news in Southern Missouri. Who would have thought a local channel in Springfield would play a story that doesn’t support Trump.

This is not going to be a good election for Republican.

Peaceful protest is protected in the Constitution. Turtle should get used to it. This is not the last he is going to encounter.

With any hope, he’ll become a pariah in Kentucky and never be able to go out in public in peace again.
