So prosecutors would likely announce charges before the end of August, or wait until after the Novembers midterm elections to make any moves in the investigation.
By all means wait until after November.
I mean, it’s the least that could be done after all the wonderful things Trump has done for you.
How weird it must be to read an article like this, detailing all of the charges which are likely soon to be filed against you, holding your morning covfefe as a free man. Knowing that your goose is probably cooked and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it.
prosecutors want to adhere to Justice Department guidelines against taking actions that could be seen to interfere with an election
Well, if the Republic falls, at least we’ll be able to say that we’ve preserved the good names of James Comey and Michael Cohen.
Some of the payments he received were made in cash.
He’s a freakin mobster!
The Feds don’t just cut deals to get info on other potential criminals. They also cut deals to get convictions with less work. The proof is these white collar fraud cases get very complicated and require enormous preparation and resources as we saw in the Manafort case. The Feds like to cut deals to get a major conviction without going through all the work. Tougher to do in high profile cases like this. But in mundane local fraud cases, they will often allow defendants to keep their fortune, protect their families, etc. in exchange for a couple years in Club Fed.
Mikhail, time to tell Mueller about your visit to Prague.

Cohen isn’t even running for office. Hillary was. Things like this reaffirm my pessimism about justice being served to any in the Trump cabal. Manafort… maybe. There’s always a pardon or a lenient Republican judge if the jury actually convicts him. Cliven Bundy and his sons had charges dismissed last January due to prosecutor misconduct. Was it intentional on the part of Trump’s Justice Dept? We’ll never know for sure.
At any rate, It looks like Trump or his campaign are not even in the spotlight regarding possible Cohen charges.
“People familiar with the case told the newspaper that prosecutors want to adhere to Justice Department guidelines against taking actions that could be seen to interfere with an election.”
I don’t get this at all.
Neither Trump nor Cohen are candidates in the midtem election.
How could this DOJ guideline even apply here?
(PS: If Mueller really wants Cohen to cooperate, then he should question him in the back seat of one of Cohen’s own NYC taxis. After the first couple of high-speed blocks, Cohen would beg for a plea deal. And clean underwear.)
That would be after the stop for cannoli, no?
Tick tock, tick tock, womp womp, tick tock.
Well I say then Quid Pro Quo
No Supreme Court picks

“prosecutors want to adhere to Justice Department guidelines against

Isn’t this the same FBI office that kept “leaking” that they’d found additional copies of emails which had already been reviewed and found irrelevant? The office that buffaloed Comey into making the stupidest election week public statement in a century? Their newfound piety fails to impress.
If Chen doesn’t flip, he’s the dumbest son of a bitch in the country.
and praying for a Republican activist judge.
Which is why the disingenuousness of the MSM is particularly galling with the way they go along with putting out those false arguments as if its the same thing as him running for office in an election year.
A lot of the media also seems to find little to say when it comes to Agent Orange continuing to comment via twitter with regards to an ongoing investigation, Mueller’s indirect or direct involvement, or the legal indictments against Manafort while a non-sequestered jury is in the process of determining his fate. While he rants about the entire legal system he is literally putting his thumbs on the scales of justice and no one is taking that moron to task for his interference in attempting to prejudice the current jury trying to determine Manafort’s case. tRump is in many ways indirectly committing jury tampering, which is yet another instance of obstruction of justice imho.
Hypocrisy is banal, but I just find it interesting how often the corruptest of the the corrupt standard-bearers for the party of so-called small-government, turn out to have made fortunes off the teat of that same government sow.
Cohen is/was dotard’s attorney/fixer. Dotard is not on the ballot in November therefore Mueller is under no obligation whatsoever to adhere to the already broken(remember Comey?) tradition of not interfering 90 days before an election. Please stop repeating this figment from the NYT article that somehow Mueller is under a time constraint because that just doesn’t apply to his investigation.
Thanks for saying this. I posted below without reading the comments but now see that several people have recognized the canard and object to it. This was first stated in a NYT article co-written by Maggie Haberman and posted online in yesterday’s NYT. Now too many people including our own Allegria are repeating it as if it has some credibility. Question everything including reporting from the NYT.
‘’…the banks, which cater to the taxi industry…’’
Obscure banks that ‘‘cater’’ to a dying industry already known for mob ties. Sounds legit.
