Nitpicky points: Potter’s House is in Adams Morgan. Lanier Heights actually is a subneighborhood (the name of an old subdivision) that even locals question acknowledging as a place name. Bloomingdale was white for decades before it became black for decades and has been gentrifying for quite awhile–the famously annoying Megan Mcardle lives there. It’s not historically one thing or another, it’s merely gentrifying now.
It used to be that sad broken people like this only injured themselves and close associates, and that they often were able to get help for their issues. Now they get semi-automatic weapons and the instructions to convert them to full auto.

He was raised Mormon. I learned of the Christian animosity towards Blacks when I moved to Mississippi and the Baptists made me aware that Blacks were Black because God was pissed they killed their brother (or something). Mormons have been anti Black from the outset for similar reasons IIRC, only JUST allowing Blacks as functioning church members since about the time I graduated high school (and I’m not 103 years old either…lol). The Mormons pretend to tolerate the Blacks now, doubling down on their homophobia in order to make up the 'hate void". To such an effective and vocal extent that their gay children are offing themselves at record rates. It’s bad enough that the entire religious facade is fake as tits on a pumpkin and just as useless, but we have to suffer through the DAMAGE their unhinged poppycock causes in the public square.
