Agreed. Trump constantly moves the goalposts. The Democrats should do the same.
Not quite. McConnell needs to bring the funding bills passed by the House to a vote.
He consistently prevents that from happening.
Updating my comment to include that.
What To Watch For
Iām going to stubbornly cling to ā¦ā¦
What To Expect
Trump and McConnell and Republicans donāt build or fix or improve government - they destroy it and they tear it down which is to tear down our society and what is needed for a civil society. People must really hate America to vote Republican.
All it does is open USG for SOTU and ensure TSA is working for Super Bowl weekend.
Wonāt the furloughed workers get paid as well? That would make it worth it. But I get your point, two weeks will come and go so fast.
Getting everyone the backpay for the last month would at least help get set up for the next shutdown. Better a short extension than continued shutdown.
Way to straddle that divide, Sen. Manchin. Be careful you donāt split yourself in the middle trying.
Sinema just voted no on the Trump plan. She did not reveal her vote until she cast it.
The silver lining, some lawmakers hope, is that the failures could potentially force both parties to work more seriously to find a real solution.
Oh, dear, I never expected to see both-sides-do-it at TPMā¦
Republicans voting against the Presidentās plan because it is not mean enough.
I hope they do get asked. I want every bogus, untruthful response on the record. Their spineless cowtowing to Trumpās whim are keeping thousands from being paidā¦and millions of people having their lives adversely affectedā¦
I assume reopening would include backpay. IIRC Congress (or at least the House) already passed a bill to the effect.
Yes, getting a month of back pay is a BFD.
But the āno wallā bill would be a two week ākick the can down the road so the Mad Puppet can have his SOTU fix and we donāt inconvenience the Super Bowl public.ā
Vote on the House funding bills. #WheresMitch
Pundits ought to be pounding the Republicans on the pettiness of using government services as a cudgel in negotiating policy. They had control of both chambers and the Presidency for two years, but didnāt build that wall. Punishing people and industries that depend upon the governmentās integrity is worse than childish, its a betrayal of the fundamental duty of the electeds to serve the nation.
Next up the Democrats plan.
And, per usual the comments arenāt working.
Ouch
and we donāt inconvenience the Super Bowl public."
Donāt get me going. The public will get their chips and dip, plus four hours of commercials interrupted by football and of course, paying āhomageā to the troops and our perpetual wars against sovereign nations. But Iāll watch. American culture is a trip.
I just sent an email to site issues.
I asked yesterday to have comments fixed before I go āAd Freeā
Ouch is right.
