“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
― Theodore Roosevelt
Whenever Trump opens his mouth he cheapens the meaning of words, undermines basic principles (of common decency, our constitution, and civilized life), and encourages the worst in human behavior. He is a careless, sloppy, dangerous man, at once a threat and an embarrassment. His lack of virtue stands naked before us, a truly ugly sight. We must turn away in disgust.
Didn’t Trump once say, “I never kid”?
Every time he opens his mouth it’s just to change feet.
Tongue in cheek! Of course! Anyone could see that! Hahahahahahaha!
Asshole.
Yeah, the Fuhrer was only joking about political opposition to him being a crime punishable by death.
Hey, Ho Diddley, how does saying he was joking make it any better? Apologists, enablers, loyalists - if you are really looking for traitors, look in the mirror.
My 13 year old does the exact same thing…
He says something inappropriate that will get him in trouble, and the second he gets called on it he says “I’m Just Joking”…
Oh riiiight, he spoke in jest.
You know, “jest” like the right-wingers about running over protestors in Charlottesville.
“Jest” like Sarah Palin’s PAC ad with a crosshair over Gabby Gifford’s district.
Ha. Ha. Ha.
Too cowardly to stand by his own words.
So he’s incompetent as a comedian as well.
The White House literally does not know what “tongue in cheek” means.
“Tongue in Cheek”? More like “Head up Butt”
Authoritarianism and mendacity tempered only by incompetence and cowardice.
I didn’t mean it when I called Sarah a lying Ho-I was just joking.
So I guess my comments calling Trump a “Putin-blowjob-giving narcissistic fat ass treasonous fuckhead” were tongue-in-cheek.
Why don’t you guys ever tell me this shit?!
Bullies do the same thing.
It’s tongue in cheek when he tries to punish news outlets for doing negative pieces about him. It’s tongue in cheek when he consistently creates doubt about the law-enforcement agencies that maintain the rule of law. It’s tongue in cheek when he demands personal loyalty from those traditionally independent agencies. It’s tongue in cheek when he says he’s the only source of truth. It’s tongue in cheek when he tries to and in some cases succeeds in using the courts to harass his political enemies. It’s tongue in cheek when he consistently praises other authoritarian leaders. It’s tongue in cheek when he refuses to enforce laws meant to punish Russia for manipulating our electoral processes on his behalf. It’s tongue in cheek when he divides the nation for his own political benefit. It’s tongue in cheek when he encourages violence against his political enemies.
So anyway thanks for clearing that up, Hogan. You’re doing great. Always worthwhile keeping that résumé up to date, though. Just a tip from Uncle Matt.
Your 13-year old is 20 years more mature.
