I have a side question here: we all agreed that SHS was contemptible for that doctored-up tape she released. OK. I at the time thought she released it as ‘supportive’ but did not know it was doctored. She ‘should’ have checked considering the source, because she got burned as far as her credibility (hahaha) was concerned.
WHAT went thru the mind of the guy (breitbart or infowars guy?) in doing this? Did he think he was just ‘sticking it to the libtard press’ or did he think he was getting to the ‘higher truth’ by slowing down HER hand and speeding up HIS hand to show him karate chopping her?
Does Acosta have a case for ‘malicious’ behavior? Does the guy just get off scot-free?
This was attempted JOB assassination and it nearly worked.

Let’s not celebrate just yet. This appears to be a temporary resolution:
CNN asked for Acosta’s credentials restored while a lawsuit over his credentials’ revocation goes forward.
(emphasis mine) And:
The judge told attorneys to file additional court papers in the case by Monday.
This is not over yet. The Trumper judge might only require the WH to provide a fig leaf’s worth of due process. We could still see a ruling that protects tyranny from the discomfort of impertinent questioners.

But the intent was to intimidate everyone in the press corps.
That goal has probably been achieved. Most humans are ordinary and they will definitely be a bit more cautious in their questioning as a result of the withdrawal of the credentials from Accosta. Does not matter whether CNN ultimately wins or not.
That is how authoritarians achieve their goals, chipping away bit by bit at the norms of a democracy.

It’s difficult to appeal a TRO. For normal litigants, by the time an appeal is heard the underlying case for an injunction can be decided. While an appellate process might the accelerated for the Resident, it seems the DC Court of Appeals is already dealing with some accelerated appeal from the Resident (it’s all under seal).

These are key points in the reality of the situation, yes. But the optics, timing and coverage of it already weigh heavily in favor of CNN/Acosta. Any type of fig leaf ruling next week will have this moment looming LARGE in the background.
