Where are the Alien and Sedition Acts when we need them?

ETA: At least the Sedition Act was subtle enough to criminalize only false statements about the government. This administration wants to get rid of that crippling limitation.

ā€œI think it was less about that part of it and whether or not somebody who is actively trying to undermine the executive branch of the government aĢ¶nĢ¶dĢ¶ Ģ¶aĢ¶ Ģ¶dĢ¶uĢ¶aĢ¶lĢ¶lĢ¶yĢ¶ Ģ¶eĢ¶lĢ¶eĢ¶cĢ¶tĢ¶eĢ¶dĢ¶ Ģ¶pĢ¶rĢ¶eĢ¶sĢ¶iĢ¶dĢ¶eĢ¶nĢ¶tĢ¶ Ģ¶oĢ¶fĢ¶ Ģ¶tĢ¶hĢ¶eĢ¶ Ģ¶UĢ¶nĢ¶iĢ¶tĢ¶eĢ¶dĢ¶ Ģ¶SĢ¶tĢ¶aĢ¶tĢ¶eĢ¶sĢ¶,Ģ¶ā€

Look in the mirror, repeat your words, and you will be presented an image of who the traitors really are.

She should be asked the following:

Instead of demanding that the NYT be ā€œprobedā€ in violation of the First Amendment, how about talking about steps the WH is taking to address the underlying REASONS for the editorial, i.e., the Presidentā€™s erratic and dangerous behavior?

Excellent question for a reporter to ask.
And when stonewalled, for every other reporter to keep asking.

I think, Ms. Cabrera, it might be ā€˜duly electedā€™ - since you were quoting Sanders.

ā€˜duallyā€™ may be taken to be the opinion of the FBI, but we must wait for the evidence to be released.

ā€œTrumpā€™s demand for the Justice Department to investigate the anonymous writerā€¦ā€

Trump: ā€œPeople should be forced to take lie detector tests.ā€

Mueller: "Great Idea!"

No, no. Since millions of illegals voted in 2016, the results of that election are highly suspect, and the results should be tossed out. So, I think the correct phrase is ā€œpossibly electedā€ or ā€œspeculatively elected.ā€

Sounds more like the kind of thing a Soviet political commissar would investigate.

Well whereā€™s the fun in that? Itā€™s been going on 2 years in and they all know heā€™s erratic and dangerous, you want them to upset the apple cart just when theyā€™ve all figured out how dull the pain without seeming drunk all the time?

I think we all know the kind of a ā€œprobeā€ Trump really wants.

Welp, should we be surprised that trump has no respect nor understanding of the first amendment? Yah, the second he has ā€¦ahemā€¦ bore sighted cuz it gets to his slobbering followers but the first is about them enemies of the people, and other assorted librul types ya knows.

She also doubled down on Trumpā€™s demand for the Justice Department to investigate the anonymous writer, saying that ā€œthey are attempting to undermine the executive branch.ā€

Well, the so-called (dick)head of the Executive Branch is trying to undermine the FBI, DOJ, the rest of the entire government and institutions of democracy. So, you would agree that an investigation into that is proper, right?

If anyone is undermining the Office of the president it is Trump himself.

I think the idea of ā€˜rational logical thoughtā€™ is taking a holiday for the duration of the trump/Pence termā€¦ I say trump/Pence because it is entirely possible ol donnie may not finish out the full 4 years for whatever reason. It is very apparent that Pence isnā€™t gonna be shedding any tears for daddy trump.

Considering they had the Secret Service detain that 17 year old kid for rolling his eyes at Trumpā€™s whoppers in Montana, this is no surprise. Any criticism of the President, direct or implied is verboten in Great America.

President Trump: Hey Russia, I have another favor to ask. Find who wrote that Op-Ed piece. Thanks as always, your loyal servant DJT.

whether or not somebody who is actively trying to undermine the executive branch of the government and a duly elected President of the United States,

Whatā€™s the statute of limitations on those actions? I imagine there is a host of GOP representatives, GOP senators, and right wing media that would like to know.

ā€œIf that individual is in meetings where
national security is being discussed, or other important topics, and
they are attempting to undermine the executive branch, that would
certainly be problematic and something that the Department of Justice
should look into,ā€ Sanders said in her first briefing since the
editorial was published last week.Asked
whether the administration is attempting to ferret out the culprit,
Sanders said the staff is ā€œfocused on things that actually matter.ā€
