Trump wants to go to Florida. Schumer wants to go to Brooklyn. If Chuck is the last person to see Trump they will make a deal. Trump doesn’t care about any of this stuff. He wants to play golf.
I think you’ve caught his prime motivation du jour. What’s at stake is a party… celebrating him… where attendees are paying obscene amounts of money to attend.
Moment of truth for Schumer.
The last thing Trump wants is for coverage of his one-year anniversary to be dominated by the #ShitholeShutdown. He’s desperate for a deal.
If Schumer caves on DACA at this moment of maximum leverage, he’s worse than useless.
Stand strong at moments like this, Chuck, and you’ll earn my full support to become Majority Leader when the Dems re-take the Senate, whether that’s in 2018 or 2020.
Fold at moments like this and I (and I hope many others) will actively work to oust you from leadership.
Schumer is going to take Trump (and Miller) for everything down to their socks and drawers. DACA supporters have been at the Capitol for a while and they’ll gut any Dem who abandons their families, friends, and neighbors.
