Booed, rad-ly
“We should have universal health care, but it shouldn’t be a kind of health care that kicks 115 million Americans off their health care.”
Dumbest. Statement. Ever.
Bye, Felicia.
Now you’re just mocking…
You will be Mockingbirded for that one. It was no Jem.
Messaging matters. Will Medicare-for-all look like current Medicare? Probably have a number of differences (different age groups/needs), sure.
But you don’t have to get into a 500-point plan at this time trying to dive into the nuances.
Either you’re on board with the concept or not. If not, probably shouldn’t bother wasting more time running.
even better
I’ll scout around for another one.
Looks like these Third Way phony-Democrat fools are finally getting the shit-on they deserve.
I’m not a fan of Delaney, but he is right on this one.
Medicare for All is a political loser for Democrats in 2020.
To begin with, many Americans will reject Medicare for All when they hear that it will raise their taxes. And millions of Americans are now satisfied with insurance from private companies, or at least feel that the devil they know is better than the one that they don’t.
Also, there is no reliable cost figure for Medicare for All–but we know that it will be very, very expensive.
Putting Medicare for All in the platform, or the presidential candidate’s program, would be a serious, self-inflicted wound for Democrats.
Better to have a public option in which private insurers may (under ACA or an improved version of its standards) compete with Medicare. I don’t believe that they will be able to, but I could be wrong, and let’s find out. Also, let’s put Republicans in the position of shilling for the health insurance industry, which will be easier if we are only talking about public insurance as a competitor, not as taking over.
And AOC betrayed her immaturity in her response to Delaney.
Intolerance to alternative points of view is not what the Democratic Party should be about.
Is it intolerance, or are you simply relaying an unpopular opinion, and the unwashed masses are providing critique?
Apparently you have not seen (or at least paid attention to) surveys showing that many Americans are satisfied with their private health insurance, or even like it.
You’ll have to go all the way to Calpurnia…
The plans I’ve seen have all been opt-in, Mr. Delaney.
Knock that off or I’ll go mad dog on you and bust a chifforobe over your head.
Well tell voters that they will get Medicare for All, and a tax cut. American voters believe all kind of stupid things these days, see trump promises of 2016, they even believe that he has already delivered them.
Gee, first Hickenlooper got criticized for refusing to say he was a capitalist, now he gets booed for rejecting socialism. WTF.
I guess that’ll do in a Finch.
It’s intolerance. And arrogance. Democrats should remember the wisdom of Oliver Wendell Holmes (who was a 19th century Republican before going on the bench), who ascribed is success to realizing that he was not God. We aren’t either.
I was busting up trying to work in the Chifforobe, well done!
