“It would be a short-term job.” Yeah. Kinda like the governorship of Alaska.
“… instead of us relying on unfriendly foreign nations, for us to import their – their resources,”
US Oil Imports (1000s barrels/day) - June 2015
- Canada : 3,012 (41% of all imports)
- Saudia Arabia : 1,076 (15% of all imports)
- Mexico : 785 (10% of all imports)
Now we know why Trump and Walker want to build walls on the border. To protect us from those unfriendly nations, Canada and Mexico
Ah, Sarah Palin. The 40,000 pound anchor that every Republican candidate for president needs and so wondrously deserves.
Wow this woman has become a parody of herself.
“I think a lot about the Department of Energy, because energy is my baby” - does that mean it’s going to get knocked up when it’s a teenager?
But it sounds like yet another job Caribou Barbie wants to quit halfway through.
Who?!
those things that God has dumped
A Mighty Fortress is Our Outhouse…
There’s a small snag in Ms. Palin’s plan. As Sec. of Energy she couldn’t get rid of the department. She would not have the authority to do that. But it does sound like she’s setting up another Government job for herself she plans to walk out on.
Lame though each of the Repubican candidates may be, I can’t see any one of them being so foolish as to put Palin in any position of responsibility, let alone a Cabinet post, in their administration. Aside from her complete lack of qualifications (and one may as well appoint Joe the Plumber), she’s a loose cannon who can’t be relied on to stay on the reservation.
And, by the way, does it make any sense to localize energy policy? Every other energy-generating nation has a national policy. Why would we allow states to determine development within their own boundaries? Sounds to me like a terrible idea, originating in this knee-jerk, brainless notion that states are always better at things than the Federal government.
doesn’t have the energy to be governor for full term so she thinks she can run the Dept of Energy? because she can see an oil tanker aground on the shore from her front porch?
Just when I’d almost forgotten how truly stupid Sarah Palin is, along comes this gem proving her unfitness to opine on anything let alone serve as anything.
Not that Palin has ever been one to let facts and reality get in the way of her mouth, but what she’s describing is the Department of the Interior, not the Department of Energy. As bad as her in charge of the DoI would be, at least there, she wouldn’t have direct oversight of the DoE nuclear weapons program…
Ahh, yes, but Tapper and CNN have long since been relevant. I mean, getting on CNN just isn’t what it used to be.
Well, Sarah, I’d like to fart sparkly rainbows. Neither of our wishes is likely to come true.
Secretary of the Wasilla town council probably would be more suited to her abilities.
This is another person who never ventures out of Politics Land, a place where having opinions about something constitutes “knowing about” it.
It’s hard not to feel sorry for this person. She was doing pretty well as governor of Alaska, then she let herself be yanked into the bottomless depths of national politics where she suffered irreversible trauma and now spends the rest of her life displaying her symptoms of PTSD. We should all let her rest in peace.
Historians probably will coalesce around the judgement that the selection of Sarah Palin as a Vice Presidential running mate brought to the national stage the least morally qualified individual selected for that position in modern American political history.
I am not speaking of the dozens of other shortcomings she possesses.
Just the moral part.
That’s because, unlike Tapper, you’re not a smarmy sociopath.
I also think that is what she means when she says she wants someone in there who is “pro responsible development.”
It’s not just that. Yellowstone does belong to us collectively as a nation and I don’t want it parted out and developed because some rogue asswipe gets elected in Wyoming on a Tea Party platform.
Palin is barely qualified to pump her own gas.
Energy Secretary is miles over her head.
