I don’t have the stomach to endure Grassley’s paean to his figment of a nation and Constitution…
Anybody know approximately what time Franken will get the mic?
Gorsuch just said he would respect the precedent set in Bush v Gore. That’s interesting considering that the Supreme Court said in writing that the ruling was not meant to be used as a precedent.
I guess Gorsuch didn’t read the part of the ruling where the Court declared its ruling to be “limited to the present circumstances,” instead of precedential in the usual course.
Would love to keep Gorsuch off the court but it’s not going to happen unless a miracle happens.

Please…there is a litmus test…overturn Roe or you don’t get the R’s behind you.
He’ll always have the blemish of being Donnie’s appointment to SCotUS. It won’t make any of his awful decisions less painful to the Americans they will harm, but at least we can jam our fingers in that wound.
First steal the seat.
Second let the Russians pick the Supreme Court Nominee.
Third, profit.
He sounds too polished. Too scripted. Too insincere. Too fake.
This guy speaks so smoothly about being impartial and fair – but he would not be where he is, nominated by Trump and rubber stamped by evangelicals if he wasn’t in a profound way, trusted by them to do their bidding. Fundamentally, his biggest flaw is that he is shamelessly accepting this nomination with the full knowledge that he is there because the seat was stolen. FAIL.
Sugar syrup masks poison.
Nah, Gorsuch is the guy that even sane Republicans wanted. This is the one thing about Trump’s time in office that conservatives will remember with pride.
Ah, life in the Judiciary Senior Citizen sunroom…Aged GOP zealots are so senile they imagine they still have credibility.
Pretty clear for anyone with eyes and a partially functioning brain that Trump’s a traitor and any product of this corrupt rule is tainted by that criminal betrayal and could be an element of the traitor’s criminal enterprise.
That the mechanism of national rule is trapped in this seemingly inescapable betrayal is a pretty clear indicator that the mechanism is in need of a complete top to bottom reappraisal…
I see little to be gained in filibustering this nomination. Even if the Republicans don’t trigger the nuclear option, all that will mean is that Trump will nominate someone else even worse. And if Trump is gone, that job will fall to Pence. Unless someone can come up with a viable plan to leave the seat vacant until 2021, that’s the reality.
They shouldn’t pass any nominee until the Russia investigation is finished.
I hope he asks him about the torture memos he defended when he work for Bush .
Given that this is a lifetime appointment, this makes the stakes impossibly high. The sad truth is that the only nomination the Trump can make that would not be tainted by the possibility of Russian influence is Judge Garland.
EVERYTHING Trump does or says is tainted by his traitorous betrayal.
This man will have an asterisk on his name for the rest of his life
“Litmus test” simply means another male nominee, in this case for SCOTUS, will be asked what he thinks about a medical procedure women sometimes choose to decide how many children they want in their family. The nominee will squirm a little, talk about the Easter rabbit, but in the end give no firm answer. Ergo, he’ll be confirmed.
A former law student of Judge Neil Gorsuch, President Trump’s nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, alleges that in a course she took from Gorsuch at the University of Colorado Law School last year, the judge told his class that employers, specifically law firms, should ask women seeking jobs about their plans for having children and implied that women manipulate companies starting in the interview stage to extract maternity benefits.
