I have the same response to hearing Gorsuch pontificate - a bit arrogant (He just bragged that he was once called “a young Perry Mason.”), somewhat phony, and, as he courts favor with Orin Hatch, also nauseating.

His mellifluous voice and false humility is truly nauseating. He tells Leahey that he can’t address whether Garland was treated fairly because as a judge he cannot be “political” – he is political simply by agreeing to be the GOP’s changeling

If the Democrats do not filibuster Neil Grorsuch I will never support a Democrat for any office ever again. I mean what good is a filibuster if only the other side can use it.
In 1993-1994 when the Dems controlled both houses of congress and the presidency the GOP minority in the Senate led more filibusters than in the entire previous history of the Republic combined. From 2001 to 2006 when the GOP had the presidency and both houses of congress (there was about a year from 2002 to 2003 when the Dems did hold a small majority in the Senate) there were no filibusters except for one led by John McCain. From 2009 through 2010 when again the Dems had the majority in both houses of congress and the presidency the Republicans broke their record for filibusters in 1993-1994.
The Supreme Court is why the GOP pulled together to support a Russian controlled racist misogynist religious bigoted failed business lying con man. If the Dems do not do everything to stop this, including forcing the Republicans to either end the filibuster or not get their pick, than the Democratic party is to weak to represent me and it is time to form a new party.

Watching the Gorsuch hearings. He’s slick like an eel, smarmy, and he’s making unfunny quips. He is desperate for this job. If he was any kind of human being he should say, “I have no right to be here. Garland is by far a more accomplished, brilliant jurist.”

I understand your frustration, but progressives being useful idiots and not voting for the democratic nominee because she was not their idea of perfection is what installed the “Russian controlled racist misogynist religious bigoted failed business lying con man.” I am not sure what the democrats can do at this point to stop this Supreme Court appointment – they could filibuster, and the GOP could still get him in with a change of rules.

If he is on the Heritage approved list, he has met all the conservatives litmus tests: anti-choice ,anti-woman, anti-environment, pro-business, pro-school choice, pro-religion. Sad day for the country.

Most Senate Republican’s are agnostic on Roe, despite their overheated rhetoric - because if Roe gets overturned, they can’t fundraise on it anymore.

While I agree with you on voting for this I say let them. Let Gorsuch requiring the use of the nuclear option to get confirmed be another stain on his legacy on top of the existing stain of the unprecedented obstruction that allowed him the nomination in the first place. We have nothing to gain by not making them go nuclear. If they will go nuclear for him they will go nuclear for any future nominee as well. Meaning there is no point at which Democrats will ever be allowed to actually use the filibuster, in which case what use is it?

I agree with you but I was trying to be tactful. The longer he speaks, the more phony, scripted, and untrustworthy he sounds (and his canned stories aren’t as humorous or self-flattering as he assumes).
