It is refreshing to hear a logical argument about the merits of the agreement - and the arguments against it - instead of the cynical scaremongering coming from the opponents.

I swear I was literally (literally-literally, not Biden-literally) about to post the same thing, lyric reference and all. I continue to marvel at this man’s ability to keep his composure in the face of all the shallow, GOP-minted, squirrel-chasing, repetitive, and just plain asinine questions from our awful, awful White House press corps, after accomplishing a feat everyone has claimed to want but doubted could be accomplished and which experts – you know, the people who actually know what they’re talking about – are saying is, once again, better than expected, tightening some of the openings they saw in the April framework. I stand in awe of a man who, after an accomplishment like that, can calmly answer the same ignorant and mindlessly adversarial questions over and over, giving the same clear answers over and over, without throwing his shoes at these idiots. Just sitting here listening has me so disgusted on his behalf that I seem all-but-incapable of writing a short sentence.

He doesn’t have to “sell the deal” to Congress. He simply has to give space to 34 Senators, or 146 House members to agree that preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon is a good deal.
And the sanctions are going to be lifted, and the IAEA is going to be on the ground doing inspections for the next decade, regardless of what Congress does.

As long as more people hear him directly than through the press corps’ filter, you’ll be right. But the coverage on the evening newscasts – which, blessedly, continue to hemorrhage viewers, but still have millions more than anyone else – could have been written by John Boehner.

Yup, thankfully. Though Chuck Todd (yeah, I know) keeps saying there are up to a dozen wavering Dems; anybody know who he thinks they all are? I know there are a few (and I’ve already contacted my Sen. Schumer to stop thinking he’s supporting Israel by being a numbskull about this), but Joe Manchin, fercrissake, seems like a “yes,” so how the hell does Todd get to 10-12 Dems?

Seeing how utterly discordant Obama’s sanity and reason is in modern D.C. fills me with despair. Any time between 1932 and 1968, when we got used to above-average presidenting, he would have fit right in (except for the obvious). Now it’s like beaming Spock into the middle of the Planet of the Clowns.

It sure was! The question was absolutely disgusting, disrespectful of the office, and rude as hell. I guess you can take the jackass out of Fox News, but you can’t take the Fox News out of the jack ass. Major Garrett is a major asshole (sorry, it had to be done).
BTW, does the president seem to be genuinely having a good time? I love it! He’s like, “Come on, guys, let’s keep going. What else ya got?”

Funny, I said exactly that about Garret, aloud, when he “asked his question” – though I used “asshole” instead of “jackass.” And yes, Obama’s in top form. Love it.
