The suspense is killing me.
Flake is surely the only vote that matters?
He will be confirmed. Time to move on.
He very well may be confirmed. But it is definitely NOT time to move on.
All I know is my days of getting caught up in the frenzy are over. I’ll always be a dependable Democratic vote, but I’m old enough to know that it’s unrealistic to have any expectation that this time might be the time they get it right.
There is no suspense. They only hold the vote when they know they got the votes. Flake has been telegraphing in BIG BOLD subtext that he will confirm him.
This is and always has been a huge charade.
Must disagree. This is far too important to write off without a fight. And there are enough maybes in the Senate to have some hope. Don’t think about the kabuki in the committee during the Kavanaugh testimony. Think about your own revulsion and your profound respect for Dr. Ford. This thing is not over. Some of these GOP senators hope to survive this misbegotten period and have a career when it’s all over.
There is no fight. It is an ILLUSION of a fight. Peel back the curtain and see the wizard. It is all sound and fury signifying nothing.
They will vote and confirm him as sure as the earth goes round the sun.
This morning? Yes.
If he votes against, Kavanaugh can still be confirmed later by the full Senate.
If he votes for, Kavanaugh is somewhat likelier to be confirmed later by the full Senate.
I agree. It’s time to begin the investigation that leads to Kav the Spaz’ immediate impeachment.
@altdrew I’m really hoping Flake will vote NO so we can watch Torquemada’s Tortuga invoke arcane Senate rules to hold a floor vote anyway. (Yes, he can do that.) Such a move would hopefully cause the Guardians Of Predators to implode spectacularly once and for all.
he’ll fold like oragami.
Not even a little?
just like oragami -and a bowl of jello.
Maybe I’m misreading your comment but it makes absolutely no sense.
What frenzy were you caught up in? It’s fairly clear (it’s simple math) that Dems by themselves do not have any say in these proceedings. They have done all they can while adhering to the wishes of the victims to expose the terribleness of Kavanaugh.
It’s really not on Dems, who will vote against him unanimously, that Republicans are such morally empty and deficient people.
And how is your solution to discourage people from rallying for Dems, which will only lead to better outcomes for the morally deficient party an appropriate response in any way?
I hope I am misreading you.
Not even a smidgen
Flake is a yes. So much for a spine.
NBC is reporting Flake will vote yes. Because of course.
It’s time for all the women assaulted by Kav the Spaz to file reports with the Montgomery County Police Department.
I think alll califdemdreamer is saying is that they see behind the curtain. There is no suspense. Hope that Kavanaugh would not be confirmed by this Republican Senate was always a fools errand. They have been telegraphing in BIG TYPE that they would confirm. The hearings of yesterday changed nothing nor were they ever going to.
Repubs will put him on this court because they know that if they don’t do it their careers on the R side of the aisle are over. Period.
It has never been a winnable fight. Thinking otherwise is merely setting yourself up for disappointment.
It is not just R’s either btw.
Manchin will vote for him. Watch.
