Note to TPM headline writers: to grill, the coals must be hot.

Oh, please! The only time Chuck Todd has ever grilled anything is when he was standing in front of his Weber Kettle with a spatula and fork in his hands. There are probably tougher interview standards to join the Girl Scouts.
If McCrory had been interviewed by Rachel Maddow or Dan Savage or Keith Olbermann, he would have ended up hiding under the desk sucking his thumb.

Perhaps if Mr. Todd was going to ā€œgrillā€ the Governor he might have asked him why he doges every question on this law with a discussion of men going into ladies rooms. The law does much much more than stop transgenders from going into bathrooms of their choice. When will McCrory get grilled on all the other stuff? If you want to me out of a womanā€™s room why do you need to shit can my right to discrimination grievance at the state level? The law does that. And a lot more.

It was softball stuff. Todd let him do some clean up.

He also argued that the Human Rights campaign is "more powerful than the NRA.

Goddamned people banding together to advocate for human rights and equality of treatment. Geez, what would Jesus think?!

If I had interviewed this turd, and he said that the HRC is more powerful than the NRA, I would have laughed in his face and called him a lying motherfucker. But, most of all, I would have asked for proof which, of course, Chuck Todd never does - at least when heā€™s interviewing a Republican because, you know, ACCESS.
If the HRC was more powerful than the NRA, North Carolina Republicans would be holding drag contests in the bathrooms of the legislature and baking cakes for same-sex marriages in their kitchens.

Unfortunately, the media has become incredibly cowardly when it comes to actually reporting on the news. They caved to what the BBC called Moderate Media Bias- they brought in all sorts of nut jobs to discuss issues because they were and are terrified of being called Liberal. Thus, they bring in Climate Change Deniers, for instance, when discussing Climate Change so as to not appear unbiased even though doing so gives credence to the people who are in such the extreme minority that they literally are being shown to be false. The same for LGBT issues. They bring in people from the FRC and NOM to provide ā€œbalanced coverageā€ even though they are both hate groups and are wrong on the issues in very demonstrative ways. So, of course Todd isnā€™t going to really push the issue.

They should have made him play ā€œChoose This Personā€™s Bathroom,ā€ showing him a bunch of images of folksā€“transgendered and notā€“making him see exactly how stupid this is.

Cowardly is right! But McCrory kept evading the question (one not asked btw) of when he will fully repeal this ā€˜midnightā€™ special session law which obviously had far more in it than bathroom stuff. Funny too he blamed the legislature, a tight schedule, Charlotteā€™s new rulesā€¦everything and everyone but RW legislators and himself!

Heā€™s also living in a fantasy world if the thinks they can get away with this. People, businesses and even religious organizations are coalescing to fight this law and way too late will NC republiscum legislators realize they have screwed the pooch economically at least!

I really hope this crap motivates my fellow NC voters to vote him and the Republican majority we currently have in our legislature out of office.

This really shows that the republican claim that government shouldnā€™t control people is pure bs. They just want a government that makes laws and controls people to do what they believe in.

I posted this a few days ago. When the hell will a journalist pose this question to McCrory or any other politician responsible for crafting or passing these bills:

A woman transitions to a man. Surgery and all. Has a reconstructed, functioning penis. Dresses as a man, because the former ā€œsheā€ is now a ā€œheā€. Therapy, drugs, hormones, surgery, the full transition. Heā€™s actually grown a beard. But ā€œheā€ is a female on the birth certificate. North Carolina law mandates ā€œheā€, in his suit and tie, or lumberjack gear, whatever, walk into the womanā€™s restroom and use the facilities? Correct?

ā€œWhat weā€™ve got to do is deal with this extremely new social norm that has come to our nation at a very quick period of timeā€¦ā€

Over and over again, the same lines, the same nonsensical arguments. So many uppity people, so many challenges to the way weā€™ve always done things. Folks around here donā€™t like change, itā€™s not that weā€™re prejudiced, we just object to special rights for these groups. Theyā€™re trying to force change on us, it wouldā€™ve been so much better if theyā€™d been more reasonable about it, talked things over a bit. And ā€œincluding even privacy in the most private of areas of our life, which is a restroom, locker room, or shower facility in our high schoolsā€ - because thatā€™s really private privacy, not like, you know, a bedroom or a doctorā€™s office.

Thereā€™s a reason why conservatives tend to be bitter: theyā€™re always fighting losing battles. Too bad so few of them seem capable of learning from the experience.

McCrory said that heā€™s unaware of any businesses in the state that discriminate against LGBT individuals.

Well, then, Gov. McCrory, I fail to see why your state needed such a law in the first place ā€“ and so quickly. As Chuck Todd pointed out, the good City of Charlotte discussed this issue at length and decided they would move forward with at least some legal protections for the citizens of their city, and that was not state-wide ā€“ so, again, just why are you and the Republicans (and some Democrats) putting your state through this? Personal rights ā€¦ got it.

McCrory, hereā€™s a delightful song that Iā€™m dedicating to you and rest of the homophobes, racists, bigots and over-all haters in the NC state legislature of anything not white and male!!
For those of you who are hard of hearing just read the lyrics if you can even read!

After all, we are trying our damnest to get back to the 18th century where Negros knew their place and all those fruit loops were put in the stockade.
