Ironic this happens on his one year anniversary.

It’s all on you, R’s.

well no, because the Dems control the Senate, errr, Congress, errrr the WH.

OMFG the treasonweasels control all 3 and they can’t even keep the lights on. Another data point that these phockers are simply an obstructionist band of thugs and have no business governing.

I’ll tell you this, every media outlet in this country is ready to go with stories about parents at their kitchen table wondering how they’ll get health insurance for their adorably portrayed kids, and stories about well-spoken, productive, obviously American young adults who happen to have had DACA status and may be forced to return to a country they left as infants and have no real connection with. I know one of them myself and could write the story in 40 minutes. It would be brutal, the stories that would run. And the four-fifths of the GOP reps and Senators who are mostly posturing through all this and aren’t rabid ideologues know it perfectly well. Brutal. So keep telling yourselves the Democrats will get blamed, morons. Keep letting the base call the tune. Keep using totally innocent children and young adults as hostages to ram through your wildly unpopular policies. See how that works for you.

In a one-party government, it’s pretty clear that the fault belongs to the party in power — Republicans.

Oh, it’s been seeping in. The Party of Lincoln is slowly getting it through its thick skull that you can’t fool all the people all the time. But if they think it’s bad already, they’ll find a shutdown would snap powerful spotlights on the whole disgusting mess. The Great Dealmaker and his zombie army are walking straight into a trap of their own devising. The Democrats really don’t want CHIP and DACA to end and they would have made a reasonable deal. But they’re not going to cave on it. They smell blood. Jesus, Trump is bad at this.

Why doesn’t Trump borrow money from Russia? It has gotten him out of financial tight spots in the past.

Hey! If the government shuts down and Kim Jong-un declares war on the U.S., does that mean he wins and
Trump reports to him?

Last night on MSNBC, one of Trump’s toadies in the GOP Congress said we might have to front the wall money for Mexico, before they pay us back. I give Chris Hayes credit for laughing in the clown’s face.

Is it appropriate for Tony Schwartz to step in and negotiate a solution to a government shutdown?

And that would be Stable Genius to you, if you please!

Yesterday’s “the Democrats don’t want a deal for DACA” trial balloon floated by the resident fucking moron was truly an LOL moment.

The TeaCruzers may think they got something positive out of the last big government shutdown but, when your party controls the WH and both houses of congress, it’s hard to put any blame on Dems when this house of cards crashes.

For years Dems in Congress and a Dem president try to get immigration legislation that includes DACA. Republicans would not do it, so Dem president establishes DACA by EO and Dems support. Republican president rescinds that EO, and Republican Congressional leaders refuse to bring bi-partisan DACA/immigration/border security bill to the floor which covers everything the Republican president says he wanted; and Republican president refuses to even consider said bi-partisan agreement two days after saying publicly he’d sign such a bi-partisan agreement. Reportedly, he changed his mind within two hours after being convinced by hard-line anti-immigration Republicans that supporting such a bill would hurt him with his Republican base of racist bigots.

Conclusion: Democrats do not want a deal for DACA.

Another consequence of a gov’t. shutdown that many overlook is that gov’t. employees who are furloughed have to pay the employer’s half of their health insurance premiums to maintain coverage. All while not being paid. Luckily, my wife and I are in a sound enough financial position to do this for a while, but many of her co-workers are not. How long could you go paying your employer’s share of health insurance premiums? Think about how many federal workers there are across the country and the economic impact of this alone. People stop buying stuff to pay their premiums.
