So I just turned one MSNBC and there was Mark Halperin drawing false equivalencies to statements HRC and Biden said during the 2008 campaign. In Biden’s case, he was talking about how his running mate Obama had no intention to take away his shot gun, and in HRC case, she was referring to RFK assassination. Both were statements that had nothing at all to do with what Trump said, but it showed me that its going to be business as usual with the GOP looking to deflect – and the media carrying water for them and claiming “both sides do it.” Halperin stated unequivocally that “clearly Trump was joking.” How does he know that?

I wouldn’t look to Halperin as representative of the MSM. He’s uniquely bad at his job. He’s the one that made famous the phrase, “this is great news for John McCain”. False equivalencies and really, horribly bad reading of the political tea leaves are all he knows.

I wonder if Trump remembers how he jumped when that guy rushed the stage in Dayton. I mean that literally. I wonder if he actually remembers. A cringing punk like that actually opening the door to more campaign violence seems…well, crazy barely covers Trump anymore.

But now that he’s let this out of the bottle, someone better tell him that he’s not too popular with a lot of Republicans himself right now and maybe remind him to Google that well-known Republican Charles Guiteau.
