I’m not sure that would work. I think I remember reading something about this a while ago, that professional interpreters will never respond from memory. They rely completely on the notes they take, if something comes up later on. It’s the reason they take notes at all. If Trump took the notes and destroyed them, the interpreter might invoke the 5th to avoid misrepresenting what happened to Congress.
