Experts: States ‘Completely Unprepared’ If SCOTUS Kills Obamacare Subsidies

Scalia, Thomas, and Alito are cackling madly. Roberts is smirking.

What are they fully prepared to do is blame The Black Man and it will look like this and its stupidity will make you want to pull your hair out.

Six million people risk losing their health care subsidies, yet @POTUS continues to deny that Obamacare is bad for the American people.

Can the GOP take a break from tearing this country up for just a little while please?
Just do your jobs and make things try to run smoother, please. This crisis creation form of government is a waste of resources.

Yo. Wasn’t it Scalia who said that Congress could totally fix this?

Experts: States ‘Completely Unprepared’

the states are almost completely underprepared

UNDERprepared != UNprepared.

Editors? Please? I mean, it’s not like you’re indicating it’s a direct quote in the headline or any—oh, wait… you are.

It’s best to go straight to the source of the story in this case WaPo to avoid confusion.

The majority legislators in those states think “underprepared” means “not enough guns and ammo on hand”.

Lawmakers also said they were unsure how much assistance the Obama
administration would lend them to transition to a state-run exchange,
making it difficult to plan for an adverse Supreme Court ruling.

Manufacture a crisis, and then blame Obama and Dems for not bailing you out! Classic Republican move. Fox News will help them get the word out.

Here’s their contingency:

I’m not expert, but lemme just say this about that…

#DUH!

Texas prepared by tagging people’s insurance cards who bought on the exchange. That way, doctors and hospital administrators get a heads up whose claims are about to come back denied / coverage terminated next month.

Would it be possible for the states to say that they’re running the exchanges and using the federal government as a contractor?

I know that’s dumb, but it’s not that much dumber than minting a trillion dollar coin.

The fix being discussed is that states can pass legislation declaring the federal exchange as their own exchange. The question becomes, if this is necessary and most states in trouble are red, will it happen?

Jones’ and Bagley’s investigations found that state Republicans, who largely control the legislatures in most of the states likely to be affected, fear a political blowback if they propose any alternative that appears to prop up President Obama’s controversial health care law.

I’d like to put a fine point on this: these are the chickens coming home to roost for Republicans. To elaborate, this is a result of them lying about the law and its effects over, and over, and over again. Now, if they allow it to be gutted without any fix, millions will be adversely affected initially, and eventually a death spiral will occur. They would be to blame for that (but they will attempt to spin it otherwise).

However, if they fix it, then their constituencies back home will throw a hissy-fit-shit-storm. Why? Because they’ve been preached to for years now that it’s the most horrible, inefficient, tyrannical law EVER, and will ruin the country if allowed to survive. They had to perpetuate that lie for political gain, and they [still] haven’t stopped. So, now, it’s ‘damned if you do (politically), and monumental disaster if you don’t (for the people).’

I guess we’ll find out how much they really care about the people

Or, re-election. The folks screaming the loudest to do something will be those in red states who lose their insurance/subsidies.

Nope, never happen. I live in East TN, this year the Gov, a REPUG, presented a plan that was 100% paid for by Feds and/or Hospitals and Ins Cos. It was to be a 2 year test case to see how it worked and could be renewed every year for another year and/or extended if desired. AGAIN: Cost the State of TN ZERO. Only thing needed was for Legislature to OK as a State plan. Nope, “the poor may get something they don’t deserve” was a paraphrase of what one local “legislator” said.

Beyond killing the ACA subsidies, these malingering Governors will be killing their own citizens…and it won’t phase them in the least. Why would they need a back up position? They had plenty of opportunities to put something in place and did nothing.Obviously, they do not care.

That’s EXACTLY why this very partisan Supreme Court won’t invalidate Obamacare subsidies. Same thing with gay marriage. Perish the thought they’d give Republicans a hard time before the next election.

Your reasoning is sound. I differ with you on the media vehicle for the ReThuggs to pull this one off.

It won’t be so much a matter of FOX. There is no way their viewers can feel any WORSE about Mr. Obama. Rather, it will be the “tut tut tut” of the Chuck Todds and the rest of the Beltway “press”, followed by the MSM in general with their butterknife assassinations.
