Well, if the “Twitter Journos” are mostly correct on this…the FBI has this evidence. And it would seem most likely that they would have received this tidbit courtesy of an anonymous source there. Basically, that theory would be, the FBI is fighting back about Comey’s firing, and giving the press a heads up on what’s about to come around the next corner.

Past 72 hours have been driven entirely by the intel/law enforcement community – Trump’s leak of classified info to Russians, Comey’s memo – then Mueller, and the Flynn news the Times just broke, the Ryan et al tape… and right before those bombs were dropped, Mensch, Taylor et al’s feeds got increasingly busy.
Looks like the FBI & Co. have been unleashing info pretty strategically through multiple channels (including the Twitter journos) to move this thing as they intend… and Rosenstein will brief all the Senators tomorrow if the announced schedule is still on, right? All the while the EDVA has been making unusual moves (per Taylor).
The way things looks accelerating, the rest of the week is going to be quite interesting…

Well if this was what they were talking about they were exaggerating its significance, since by itself it would not be reason to deny Ryan the presidency (if both Trump and Pence are removed), as they’ve suggested the tape would do. But as I said above it really does seem to be a different tape, since a) it was not from the Republican convention and b) it does not result from Ryan talking to a Russian, which I believe is what they claimed.
I’m thinking that if there is anything to their claims it’s something more than this.

So does Ryan stand by his remarks earlier today that somebody wants to hurt Trump? After this tape was released tonight, I’d say Paulie couldn’t care less one way or another. Talk about being corrupt both politically and morally.
Foreign involvement in our election process doesn’t bother the Speaker of the House of the United States? The third in line to the Executive? Pence better watch his back?

Not to mention that both McCarthy and Ryan’s staffs both explained tonight that they thought it was funny that Trump might be a traitor and did the bidding of a foreign government. You don’t get anymore craven and corrupt to the core than that.

I don’t believe its by chance that we are seeing this escalation happen right as the President is getting ready to go overseas. There is of course a certain poetic balance about doing this after Trump fired Comey while he was in LA, but I believe operationally, its to hit the WH at a time when they are most vulnerable tactically, and unable to react quickly.
For example, I just heard that WaPo is reporting that WH senior staffers are starting to circulate their resumes. With Trump, and most likely the majority of his “brain trust” out of the country, they are going to be seriously hindered at putting a stop to that. Which is precisely what the FBI wants…they want WH staffers stepping forward now…early on…and ratting out the rest. And they are going to get it.
But there is still one, relatively minor detail, that is bothering me about the Comey memo. Why was Sessions in the room if Comey was briefing everyone on the Flynn investigation? I think its going to turn out that Sessions is far dirtier than anyone…including our side…has imagined. And he may very well be the first Cabinet member/Senior Advisor forced out of office. From the investigation’s perspective, its almost imperative that happen…you cannot have the DoJ actively working against the FBI or Special Counsel. And since Sessions has clearly never recused himself, he has to go.

Speaking of which, I am under the impression Mensch has effectively retracted at least part of the “Carolina Conspiracy”… well, conspiracy. So, Boente, white-hat. Preet, white-hat. That’s one of her stories I found really, really whack and dubious – frankly couldn’t buy it at all.
But if something was indeed planted in Weiner’s laptop, I think things wouldn’t be that much mystery-novel complicated. NY FBI Trumpets had the laptop. They could do whatever they wanted.

Trump indicated that he’s been recording everything and will use it against those that cross him. Ryan better by careful laughing about Trump in any ways, means or substance or he might end up being the target of one of those Special Prosecutor probes?
OK so now we’re down to Tillerson in the line of succession. Which means if it comes to that, probably Orin Hatch.
Oh I agree, that little Klan weasel is up to his pointy ears in this. His craving for power got the best of him and there was little to no best in there to begin with.
