EDIT: from my quick skim, it sounds like Rodgers is the only one consistently picked up on the mic. Not saying that indicates proximity, but, y’know, just sayin’.
House Majority Leader McCarthy blew his shot at Speaker when he said on the radio that the Benghazi investigations were just there to drag Hillary.

So: I’d like Majority Leader McCarthy and Speaker Ryan to explain what would be funny about a major US politician, of any party, being paid covertly by a foreign government.

And if it was a joke, why the plea from Ryan to keep it a secret? Guilty as hell.
Honestly, it probably was sort of a joke but it’s telling that the joke came to mind with respect to Trump. Ryan’s comments and the blatant lying in the denials come across as worse to me, although neither was particularly surprising.
Why not sort of a statement of opinion…seriously, as McCarthy said in the recording.
