Discussion: WaPo: Flynn Denied To FBI That He Discussed Sanctions With Russia

Maybe it was the very impartial NY office of the FBI making that judgment about Flynn’s legal future.

Perjury is perpetrated in a court of law.

Lying to the FBI is obstruction of justice!

Either one will do in this case.

During an impromptu press conference Thursday, Trump said that he did not direct Flynn to discuss sanctions with Kislyak. The President said it “certainly would have been OK” with him in Flynn did. In fact, Trump said he would have encouraged it.

“What he did wasn’t wrong,” Trump said. “I didn’t direct him, but I would have directed him if he didn’t do it, OK?”

Did he REALLY just say this?!? So, any intel on Russia is now just going to be handed to Russia?!?!

My first reaction to that was the FBI was just happily feeding him more rope until they’re ready to toss him an anchor. Administrations change but bureaucracies live on and on; i.e. Sessions ain’t gonna be there to protect him forever.

Plus there’s that pesky thing called “institutional memory.” He’s already betrayed them. I suspect payback is going to be a real bitch for Mikey.

Section 19 of the Internal Security Act of 1950, 64 Stat. 1005, provides a ten-year limitations period for prosecutions under the espionage statutes, 18 U.S.C. Secs. 792 to 794.

And yet those who leaked this “fake news” are criminals, he says. He certainly has the most illogical mind ever seen in any so-called president.

Julie Nixon Eisenhower and Tricia Nixon Cox are raising glasses of Veuve Clicquot tonight. Their father is no longer our worst President.

And the Bush daughters, now more sedate, are doing 11 jello shots for old times’ sake.

The longer this goes on, and the more plausible it becomes that T rump is indeed mentally detached from reality, the more likely it is becoming that it is Bannon, and not T rump, who is actually orchestrating the contacts with Russia. Quite possibly T rump did not tell Flynn to contact the Russian Ambassador to talk about sanctions. It was Bannon, who is working with Manafort, who is in waaaay over his head with the Russian mafia. The Russian mafia, of course, works for Putin. In this way, the two world leaders can speak with a clean conscience that they know nothing. Nothing at all. And they’d be correct. I mean, if T rump really was orchestrating this level of treason, do you really think that given his weak temperament and self-aggrandizing, that he could so effectively mask any tell at all that he does, in fact, know what’s going on? Can anyone act so completely clueless if they know anything to the contrary? I’m beginning to think that T rump really is that stupid, and he’s being completely honest when he says that he doesn’t know who is doing what in his name. In that light, it becomes criminal negligence on behalf of all of us if we knowingly let him continue to serve as President. Paul Ryun, you are an accomplice to all of Bannon’s treasonous acts by leaving T rump in office. You can be his cellmate at Guantanamo.

And Barstool Palin will do whoever comes along.

I could buy this idea more if T-rumpus wasn’t so dang consistent in speaking well of Putin. He’s more consistent on that than he has been about anything. And consistency is not his strong suit.

Edit: when he admits he knows who he is…

In defense of Jenna and Tonica, if W was my father, I’d stay plastered too.
