You know, that famous Koch sock puppet from Wisconsin! He’s got a Koch hand up his ass, and let me tell you, it’s just the way he likes it!

I suppose it is also still technically “possible” that Walker will be the nominee. But like Wayne said, it is also possible that monkeys will come flying out of his ass.

Seriously, I couldn’t remember who “Walker” was. And that’s the only interesting thing about this, the way the big Middle American Governor Threat sank beneath the waves. Of course it’s possible Trump could be the nominee. It’s possible, if everyone wanted to, that we could amend the Constitution over the next 13 months and elect an armadillo President. It’s also possible “Walker” will say something worth hearing in that time. But all of these possibilities are very remote.

Wow! So he’s still finding ways to infuriate the Koch brothers is he? Not only did he burn all their cash in his horrid and short-lived campaign, but now he’s suggesting that any of their other investment candidates “might” just meet a similar fate and fall at the hands of the crazy but rich outsider.

It’s also possibly that one could be crushed and killed by a vending machine, but the likelihood is extremely low [Odds: 1 in 112 million] Trump will never be the GOP nominee and will never, ever be president.

Got in mind a candidate that will beat him? I’ll love to see a bombastic brutal bashing bloody brouhaha all the way through next summer.

So here is the thing I don’t get.

How can you say that Trump will never be the GOP nominee? A) He is leading, and has been leading for months, in every poll. B) Those closest to him are also more likely to be forced out due to lack of finances, a problem he doesn’t have. And as they leave, their voters are more likely to go to Trump than to an establishment candidate. C) The manner in which the RNC set up the primaries this year, makes it easier for a candidate with a plurality, not a majority, to win the nomination. That is precisely the situation that Trump has.

So the only logical reason to make such an assertion is that the RNC is going to change the rule at the last minute (they aren’t), or that you have some knowledge that Trump is going to drop out. I haven’t seen that report myself, but I don’t see it as particularly likely.

The other option is one the establishment candidates is going to suddenly streak to the top? Given that Rubio+Bush+Kasich < Trump, I find that a pretty out there argument as well.

So him running for the nomination was useless and him quitting to take down Trump was also useless. Seems like a trend.

" He still urged presidential candidates to reflect if they’re candidacy is doing more harm than good."

I was thinking the same thing about the GOP field when I was the Dem debate last night. Couldn’t even remember the names of all the GOPs that need to drop out.

DJ, I wouldn’t say “never” because anything certainly is possible. And Trump is undeniably doing much better than anyone could have predicted, and is in an interesting strategic position. But there are two other factors I think matter a lot: one is Trump’s psyche, and the other is the certainty of changing circumstances. For me it still remains hard to believe that this guy can do everything he needs to do to go the distance, especially as more setbacks come his way. I’ve read, for instance, that many of his supporters are among the least politically engaged. They could simply get bored after a while and wander off. They’ve never knocked on doors or worked a phone bank. Trump himself could get bored and wander off. We’ve all known people who pursue things until it gets difficult. Could be partly optimism on my part, because God knows it’s distasteful to think of his winning the nomination, but there seem to be some very strong intangibles militating against it.

I really don’t get it either. If there are any comparisons to be made between the current race and 2012, it’s that Trump is increasingly looking like this year’s Romney. In 2012, GOP voters flirted with several other candidates, but Romney remained the second choice, only falling to third in very few outlier polls. Trump’s candidacy has had similar staying power, except that he’s remained at the top since he clinched the spot several months ago.

At some point, the MSM and everyone else has to come to terms with the fact that Trump is increasingly looking like the nominee. Had any other candidate held onto first place for so long, no one would be doubting the probability of a win. Just because Trump is a completely ridiculous, offensive, disgusting character doesn’t mean the GOP base won’t idiotically nominate him. This is a crowd that honestly believes the president is a Muslim atheist, that four dead Americans is far more tragic and worthy of investigation than the thousands of Americans that die everyday behind gun violence, that less access to contraception means fewer unwanted pregnancies and abortions, and on and on.

I estimate the party brass has got about 3 or 4 more weeks left to get him out of the race before voters tune out of politics completely and start focusing on the holidays. If he goes into December still riding high in the polls, there’s little they’re going to be able to do to stop him before the IA Caucuses. A win in IA, a respectable showing in NH, and then a landslide Trump victory in SC and NV will be all she wrote. The narrative will be written, the die cast, and Trump will be the nominee.

Hey Scotty Boy: NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK.
Slink back into your hole to figure out how you can fuck up Wisconsin even more in your last days in Politics.
Enjoy you new career as the President of “Americans for Prosperity” (to be announced the day you leave office.)

Walker is campaigning for a V.P. slot.

He couldn’t generate any enthusiasm as a presidential candidate. If he should happen to get the nod, he certainly doesn’t bring much to the ticket, including his own state. If Ryan couldn’t deliver Wisconsin in 2012, this little weasel sure won’t be successful.

When asked in an interview with Wisconsin radio station WTMJ on Wednesday if celebrity mogul Donald Trump could win the Republican nomination, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker ® said yes, it’s possible.

And if that happens, the “stakes” are different than 2008 or 2012.

It goes from “worst” to “worserest” to “worsarama”, if Trumps wins the Presidency.

Names like Warren Harding, G.W. Bush come to mind, in an exponential way.

If they are candidacy? Caitlin, you’re usually better than this.
