Discussion for article #231353
today must be friday.
Cops need to know that almost literally everyone has a video camera with them at all times. They just canāt get away with this crap any more.
ā¦Not as easily
but rarely are they indicted and more rarely, convicted.
One of the first requisites for being a police officer should be the ability to control oneās temper. Nobody should begrudge a cop being incredibly pissed at certain criminal acts, but it has to stop there.
Thatās one reason Iād never make it as a copāI have a vile temper and have a hard time controlling it when confronted with assholism, and I have great respect for those cops who can carry out their duties with the appropriate self-restraint. Those who canāt do that shouldnāt wear a badge, or they should be driving a desk at the police station.
This YOUng MAN shOULD aPPOLogize to THE POLICE fOR maKINg this OFFIcer LOOK bad!!!1!11!!!one!1!!!
When a cop does it, he just one rogue cop but is not reflective of police generally. However, the actions of a single black man seem to always be treated as symptomatic of the black community generally.
Still canāt understand why the protests in Missouri had violent elements. Whatās not to love?
Nothing is going to happen this guy. At worst he gets a few days of administrative leave, which will give him time to go to Coney Island or something.
Steroids, MMA and cops are a bad mix.
Given the conviction rates for this sort of behaviour, I would say that the odds are stacked in their favour, thoā.
The video was very interesting and I really appreciate the long continuous ātakeāā¦I was particularly interested in the off-camera female bystander who described herself as a lawyer.
Note to everyone for the upcoming campaign, long, long takesā¦let the world decide.
The youtube comment thread attached to this clip is even more disturbing than the clip itself. The majority of responses are from open carry advocates explaining that this type of police brutality would not occur if every pedestrian on the block were visibly strapped. They go on to proclaim that these several punches to the stomach of the young handcuffed suspect is perfect justification for citizen witnesses to start shooting at the cops.
Somehow that doesnāt strike me as a better idea than condemning an overly aggressive cop and pushing for charges against him.
There were four other cops on the scene. Why did it take the posting of a video to instigate an investigation? Police like to say not all cops are bad, but when four cops allow a fellow cop to assault a 12 year being held by other cops, then, yeah, it kind of makes the whole ānot all cops are bad or racistā seem like a steaming pile of shit.
Repairing the hell out of those community relations.
See, this is the reason Iām not so jazzed on the police getting body cams.
The problem isnāt just in reporting police brutality; itās what happens after the brutality has occurred. I mean, how many videos are we going to have to watch of Black men getting beaten and/or killed and the police (AND their unions) claiming that their actions were justified because they were in fear of their lives??
Do suppose these are just a bunch of gas baggers entertaining themselves, or thereās some looney perusing youtube who actually thinks this is a reasonable course of action? Only idiots suggest that such actions are reasonable, but they become morally and ethically complicit if they goad some other anonymous blow-hard into taking action. Of course, moral and ethical are probably terms they donāt really understand.
Exactly. Body cams? So what. We already have videos of police violence and nothing happens to them anyways. Moreover, who is policing the police body cam videos? Oh thatās right, its the police. Its not like the body cam videos will be instantly uploaded to some cloud for public viewing. The vast majority of bad acts captured on body cams will never be seen by the public.
These people appear very serious about their lunacy.
The police in New York are seriously out of control and their union leader believes they donāt have to answer to any civilians including the mayor, DeBlasio.
āHe is not running the city of New York. He thinks heās running a fucking revolution
