And #3…once you work at Fox, particularly in front of the camera, for a number of years…you become incredibly toxic to any other network. Seriously, I cannot think of a single one off the top of my head that has left and gone on to another network.
Honestly, I am not sure that is what is going on here at all. It appears that she was raising concerns through her time there, and was getting pushed down every time, and finally she had no other options.
She threatened to file a lawsuit and was fired in retaliation. If anyone is being spiteful, it seems to be Ailes, an act, which if it did occur that way, seriously hurts his defense.
I guess he didn’t hit on Greta. Just wondering.
wait. so gretchen is ok now? i get confused on who i’m supposed to hate.
I want to see a mass Bimbexit from Fox.
As I’ve seen the allegations described (caveat: I have a low tolerance for spending time on this stuff), Ailes’ actions did not constitute crimes but rather torts. If that is right, he can lose money in a lawsuit but not, eg., go to jail.
Maybe one day you’ll be able to hold more than one thought in your head at the same time. Good luck!
Sexist douchebags work at Fox News? On Fox and Friends?
Mind. Blown.
As above, so below. Those two tools are behaving like the top dog. And you can bet that this kind of thoughtless ha-ha harassment is endemic to Fox. It’s nothing but locker room leers and juvenile cat-calling. The boys beside themselves that they are in the same room with the girls and giddy at the possibilities hardened into a demeaning trash talk at the object of their stupefaction, serenely unaware that they are unfunny as a turd in soup.
Calling someone "beautiful"is not a lewd comment. There is too much attempt to regulate what other people say. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it lewd or offensive. It could mean you have a problem. Some of the stuff on the video is inappropriate but calling some one beautiful or complimenting a dress is not.
Sure, it’s the ol’ wink-wink. We hired you for eye candy, so get over it that we treat you like eye candy. No one takes you seriously and if you think we should, you really are clueless.
I suppose the TL;DR version of that is Know Your Place.
All the same, even if you’re hired to take out the trash, employers in the US aren’t permitted to engender a hostile work environment. If she can show there was a pervasive environment that she found hostile, she can make a case. If she can prove that she complained about sexual harassment or a hostile work environment and her employer did nothing, she can make a case. It may be Fox News and they may actually think they exist in a separate reality, but last time I looked Fox is still required to adhere to labor laws and regulations.
Careful what you wish for, Roger.
A woman has you by the balls.
No, not necessarily wrong, but the obligation is upon Fox to avoid creating a hostile work environment.
Unless her job description lists flashing thighs at the camera as one of her duties upon hiring, she is perfectly right in expressing discomfort, and Fox is legally required to address it by demonstrating a good faith effort to address and eliminate sexual harassment.
She’s only required to do her job, not decide if she’s had enough.
That smile says “I hate my job.” She is literally gritting her teeth to stop herself from punching that doofus right in the dick.
Frat boys will be frat boys.
I absolutely agree…subtlety is not their forte!
She took the job and she took the money.
I’m glad this is in the news but I have no sympathy what so ever for Ms. Carlson.
If she wasn’t aware of her role going in I guess she also blinde.
She went to work for a pimp and she took the money.
It was ok when they paid her well, but when they cut her pay she decided to make them pay for it. Still harassment and sexism though.
