Discussion: US Prosecutors Cancel Interview With Stormy Daniels For Cohen Probe

Poor Stormy, all dressed up and no one to blow.

“Daniels has said she had sex with Trump in 2006 when he was married, which Trump has denied.”

That he was married? No, I’m pretty sure he was.

It seems apparent prosecutors are miffed the interview became public, certainly due to a leak or outright disclosure to media by Avenetti. So, is this cancellation a rebuke to Avenetti by SDNY? Is the case on such a grand scale of transgressions by Cohen the Daniels portion isn’t needed to hang him, so prosecutors have essentially signaled to Avenetti “You’re on your own, we don’t need you or your grandstanding and lack of discretion.”? Daniels may eventually he asked to help nail down particulars, but it looks for now Avenetti has been given a time-out and told to go sit in the corner.

The purge of all Democrats in the FBI and DoJ is showing its benefit…to the crooks and Trump! Too bad the Clinton’s never cleaned out all the Republicans…Hillary’s made up email conspiracy by the right winger fascist Republicans never would have wasted 3 YEARS and over $ 100 Million of tax payer money!

This was my first thought too… But the FBI in NY does not require any investigation into their conduct, because it was PRO TRUMP.

That’s my read too. Clearly Avenatti leaked the details given prosecutor’s response to the news; also given the hard evidence in the prosecutor’s hands after the raids, it’s hard to imagine they particularly need this interview.

It may be wishful thinking, but I’m going to interpret this to mean that Cohen has finally flipped on Trump. There is no need for an interview if Cohen will plead guilty.

Come on it’s Trump. If he thought it would be in his interest, he’d deny that he was married, that he had ever heard Stormy’s name and that 2006 ever happened.

And the Prosecutors were pissed that the interview became public…? Why is that a reason to cancel? Sounds childish to me.

Well, that saves me having to say this. Yeah, 100%.

In addition to all you say, I hold a flicker of hope that Cohen will plea bargain and Perfect Stormy’s testimony won’t be needed.

Your post beat me to it. Fingers crossed.

Yes.
Cohen did that selfie with Tom Arnold and Tom looked like a drunken idiot making the rounds and yes, no giving any heads up on these things now as we have moved on to latter stages where the shit is not only real, but it’s vital to maintain integrity.

May not have been a big deal about this interview if that completely stupid selfie thing didn’t happen over the weekend. That was embarrassing.

I think we pretty much already know Cohen is cooperating.

Avenatti overreached this time. I’m surprised he thought that SDNY would consent to be part of his circus. I imagine he’ll know better next time.

Generally speaking, I think, federal prosecutors aren’t thrilled with being used as circus props. Avenatti, smart as he is, should have known better.

I’m not sure Avenatti had any reason to leak this. But someone who wanted to derail part of SDNY’s case might.

Can someone tell me how this, in any universe, makes any sense whatsoever?

WTF?

So, now all a person has to do is tell the press they’re going to be interviewed, and Mueller will cancel? Like it or not, that’s the precedent he just set.

I’ll offer my proofreading skills FOR FREE, as it’s obvious Josh hasn’t hired anyone yet.
