Discussion: US Prosecutors Cancel Interview With Stormy Daniels For Cohen Probe

This, coming after weeks of Avenatti appearing on Television claiming to know about things relating to the SDNY investigation, or predicting the grounds or counts of a coming indictment of Cohen. Making the interview public was the straw that broke the camel’s back. But there has been something off putting about Avenatti’s incessant interjection of himself into the news and into the Privilege Review case as well. And remember, he published those Treasury Reports on suspicious banking transactions that he really was not supposed to have, and has still not explained how he obtained them. And I bet you the SDNY knows things about him that they feel might eventually taint their case. Pretty smart move if you ask me.

That, or it’s time for Avenatti to put a sock in it and do his fucking job, as at least one practicing attorney on this board has suggested in this very thread.

Oh man, don’t get me started.

He hasn’t hired anyone for himself, nor for any of the reporters on his staff. He is clearly incapable of doing it himself, and I’ve heard in these here comment threads that he doesn’t think it’s important, either.

I think you’ll find all the answers you need right here in this thread.

Not really. But that will happen if they behave like Avenatti. See above quotes.

Again, not really. But Avenatti’s been skirting the bounds for a while. This is their way of saying: You probably need us more than we need you.

There was once a well-worn saying: The most dangerous place in the world to be is between a camera and John McCain. The saying got repurposed for a number of other individuals, and I’m going to repurpose it right now for Michael Avenatti. Prosecutors are saying don’t use us for your grandstanding. Do your job.

Also, generally speaking, potential cooperators are forbidden from divulging their cooperation. I know that Daniels is more of a witness at this point than a target, but add this to the list of other smell and optics factors the SDNY has been sitting back and taking in from Monsieur Avenatti.
