This is what happens when an elected governor listens to hate Radio and watches Fox News.

All I can say is - I can’t believe it… What in the world is wrong with this man and the people worried about this? Totally out of touch with reality.

I read the headline and thought maybe April Fool’s Day just came late.

A few years ago, we would have assumed that this headline appeared in The Onion. The same citizens that love the military and want more wars are now convinced the U.S. Army is going to stage a hostile takeover of them. What has happened to us in this country?

Special tinfoil “helmets” were handed out as citizens exited the meeting …

Sorry for The Onion reference - we must have been typing at the same time.

Then lets close Fort Hood and move it to Illinois or Ohio or California

These people are fucking ludicrous. This is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.

It’s (unfortunately) fairly common to see backbenchers in state legislatures echo this kind of nonsense, but it’s rare and appalling to see a governor lend credence to wingnut beliefs like this.

“Suspicions about Jade Helm intensified on some conservative websites and social media after a map labeled Texas, Utah and parts of California as “hostile” for the purposes of the three-month training exercise that begins in July.”

No one down there considers the terrain of Texas, Utah & parts of Cali? Geee, what kind of terrain is that anyway? Kind of desert like with some mountains….hmmmmm… what part of the world is somewhat like that? These Texans seem to be so freaked out by the right wing noise bubble they live in that tells them to fear their own government because…Obama…. to even see that this type of training mission might be intended for practice in a part of the world that is in big disarray at the moment. That’s some Texas sized derp going on there.

Dear Texas,
A nation does not have to “take over” territory that is already part of that nation. So, there’s that, and then there’s the weird fact that you are worrying about the imminent onset of something that already happened 150 years ago. Space and time, Texas, space and time.
Sincerely,
Captain Obvious

“It’s a sad when people’s greatest fear is their government,” Pape said. “Think about the ramification of that. If Americans go to sleep at night worrying whether their government is going to sell them out before morning, it’d be hard to sleep.”

There are people whose reality is exactly that, but it’s not a bunch of nut jobs in Texas.

The effing governor. Not that loony, ten-gallon-tinfoil-hatted Alex Jones.

The effing governor.

Stunning.

To understand how the Middle East got the way it is, you only have to look around at some of the people (conservatives) in this country.
