Just in case losing health care doesn’t kill them, we’ll freeze the bastards to death…

You have to have a black soul to even propose cutting off heat to the poor and elderly. . . Hey Trump kids, how about donating some of your $$$ to keep this program going?

In a rational world, where Republicans weren’t crazy and full of dogmatic opposition to sensible solutions to the problems of ordinary people, we would have been giving people assistance in yanking out their heating oil systems and getting them onto gas or heat pumps.

Yeah, I know gas hasn’t always been dirt cheap. Yeah, I know switching from rads to forced air isn’t an easy thing, especially in an old house where there’s no room for new duct work. Yeah, I know removing an oil tank entails dealing with a likely pollution abatement problem as well. But I also know that gas has always been cheaper, cleaner, more reliable, less environmentally damaging, and vastly more comfortable, than oil, and we haven’t even tried. Because such a program is just inconceivable to the modern Republican mindset.

Well, if you can’t bring the old moochers to the ice floes, bring the ice floes to the old moochers.

Those freezing need not apply.

I know reality is irrelevant in a trump administration, but many/most people receiving heating assistance don’t heat with electricity or ultility-provided gas. Outside the big cities, heat comes from oil or propane or wood delivered by private contractors, most of which are smallish local businesses. They will no question about it cut off deliveries if you’re behind on your bill, and because they’re not big companies, any unfunded mandate to continue serving nonpaying customers would likely drive them into bankruptcy. Thus imperiling deliveries for everyone in cold-weather states.

Stupid and evil go together like, um, oh, nevermind.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The summer air is sizzling as the Fourth of July approaches, yet 86-year-old Richard Perkins already worries about how he’s going to stay warm this winter.

At least denying old people winter heat aid has the benefit of slowing decomposition when they inevitably expire from lack of medical care and nutrition.

Glass half full, c'mon people!!

Maybe Trump will open up a few rooms at Mar-a-Lago during the winter months. Just stack the old folks from New England on top of each other. Let them eat (chocolate) cake.

Do they have people assigned to dream up the meanest, most cruel things they can do to people? Or do these thoughts just come naturally to them?

Perhaps the President needs to be reminded that this program was not started by President Obama, therefore does not need to be ended as another petty revenge.

WTF would constitute “strong performance outcomes” for this program?! The desired outcome is “people don’t freeze to death or die of exposure in their homes.” What else is there? WTF is wrong with these people?!

Another area that Trump doesn’t understand and that is squarely benefiting the base that elected him…the white rural poor uses most of the heating assistance. He also doesn’t have a clue when he says that help is no longer needed because of price controls…just completely false. Heating oil is not under price controls - period! Wood is not under price controls. The NG price controls are a joke.

Dumpy Trumpy is once again way way out of his element and just makes things up for the hell of it.

This is a very important program up here for obvious reasons. Sure it is elsewhere in the US also. Stopping this government program on top of Citgo pulling out of Joe Kennedy’s non profit Citizens Energy would without a doubt cause people to die either by freezing or by setting fire to homes attempting to heat by inadvisable means. This is sick and cruel plain and simple.

Not enough Democrats dying fast enough.

May Price be plagued by nightmares where he watches his loved ones freeze to death.
