I guess he just missed all those shots of John Kelley with his face in his hands. SMDH while LOL
Hereās the fun part, Mick. Heās still a terrible human being and will always be one, but now that terrible human being is going to make your life a living hell and will destroy what little respect or goodwill anyone mightāve had for you. Good luck. Enjoy!
True enough. Tell you what, Iāll bet that he lasts longer than we think but I wonāt bet much.
The Greeks had a term-kakistocracy, the rule of a society by its worst members. But at least they didnāt have Twitter so you only had to hear from your worthless rulers occasionally.
Iām a terrible gambler anyway - I donāt really like it.
Hereās what Iām reading on another tab on this rainy afternoon. Good piece on deprogramming entrenched political beliefs, btw. Didnāt even have to scroll:
We can understand Donald Trumpās rise as a civil religion giving way to its cultic expression. Con man, cult leader, populist politician: Trump is all of these, rolled into one. He has become all-encompassing, even to nonbelievers. We all feel the fatigue of merely existing in the Trump era, the rapid-fire assault on all of our political and social senses. We want immediate solutions to the Trump problem. We want to beat reason into his followers, until they recognize how wrong they are, or at the very least, submit. We want to blame themājustifiablyāfor perpetuating his sham.
Me either. Most pointless form of sin as far as my own research indicates.
I think he will last - unless he pisses off Trump, or gets shivved by Jared and Ivanka. Why - because he is both a sadist and an ideologue like Steven Miller. Mulvaney is to the safetynet programs what Miller is to immigration. And I think he will tolerate nearly anything to have the chance to obliterate SS Medicaid and Medicare - along with any program (like Free and reduced lunch programs in k12 schools) that help those in need. I think his views of the social net (there should be none) are even more extreme than those of Paul Ryan.
Amen. If I believed in sin.
We have friends who love the casinos and donāt understand why we donāt. I canāt think of much that is sadder, frankly, than spending time throwing money away to get more money.
If slot machines paid off in diamond bracelets, theyād have me. Quarters and dimes (Iām assuming, having never done it) just bore the shit out of me.
Well, he better hop to. This is the part of the movie even before the opening credits where we see the new sheriff riding into town.
Oh and hereās a famous filmic version of thatāa guy wondering what the hell ails this town he just blew into anyway. Hey Mick, if youāre reading this, check it out, dude:
That sounds a lot like a cacastocracy.
What we have is probably more an Idiocracy.
Now that made me laugh. And in an era where laughs are hard to come by, I send genuine kudos.
This is another instance when the wayback machine, aka video/print archives, comes to bite said candidate in the ass. I really like Mulvaney insisting on the word āactingā before COSāto ensure a quick, painless exit.
I wouldnāt count on the āquickā or the āpainless,ā only on the inevitable ouster by Trumpski.
But really, you canāt make this stuff up!
I tried watching that movie once but couldnāt do it.
Because you didnāt like it? Or because its searing truth was too painful to endure?
Itās depressing in its accuracy.
O god I love Kurosawa. I think Iāve seen almost all of them.
I always have had such a crush on Toshiro Mifune.
Both. Iād have rather read a scathing limerick.
Trump: I am punishing Mulvaney by paying him the salary of 1 person while he does two jobs that no one wants to do. I win.
Did you see Mifune and Lee Marvin in that WWII movie, Hell in the Pacific, where they were enemies stranded on a Pacific island?
