After Trump’s many statements and tweets defaming the judiciary, I’m betting that the Trumpster gets zero deference from the courts.
If Trumpinski has time to tweet and/or time to play golf every other weekend he and his lawyers have enough time to mount a defense.
As a general proposition, I think it would be pretty clear that a state court would not have any jurisdiction of the POTUS for his official acts or any acts arising out of the discharge of his or her official duties.
But the suggestion that you can’t sue a person who is otherwise subject to the jurisdiction of a state court can’t be sued only because that person happens to be POTUS is absurd.
“Teflon Don”
He so wants to be Teflon Don.
Like he’s doing so many great things with his time as things now stand
Agree 100%
Agree, AND, I wouldn’t be surprised if the NY Supreme court does NOT dismiss and then it gets to the US Supreme court…4-4??? If so, the State court’s ruling stands
It led to Clinton’s impeachment because the GOP took it there.

Who? If it was all legal, then you won’t mind telling us.
Trump’s already involved in a bunch of lawsuits. I believe a couple were filed recently by contractors on his projects who’ve yet to be paid. What’s the big deal about one more?
Evidently he’s not mounting Melania either.
We should all be grateful for that, because of God or Infinite Jest, Melania would end up preggers and we don’t need another Trump feeding from the teat of the American tax payer, thank you very much.
Take up too much of his time? It’s not like he is doing any presidenting. Anyway, he just needs to spend weekends at Trump Tower instead of Fart-a-Lot Go or wherever.
I don’t understand why DJT didn’t just file a motion to dis miss based on his alleged immunity. The present motion is basically a request for more time to respond to the complaint, saying that he plans to seek dismissal on immunity grounds. If the law were in his favor, why didn’t he just file the motion? I agree that it’should ridiculous to claim that a POTUS has immunity for violations of state law that occurred before he became preznit.
Bill Clinton v Paula Jones. Clinton argued that any action against him should be held off as long as he was in office. The Supreme Court disagreed, ruling that the President can indeed be sued for alleged actions that took place prior to taking office or that are not related to the Presidency.
L’état, C’ést PeePee.
If he is immune from lawsuits then by the same token he has no right to sue others. Including the girl with the trump-punching kitten website.
