Discussion: Trump Wonders: How Do You Impeach A President Who's So Awesome?

Perhaps she’d benefit from a zoom lens

Notably those who steep themselves in a field and culture which is relatively lacking in testable assumptions.

I’m not saying the hard sciences are better or more worthy (the world needs economists too), but when your research and teachings can’t ever really be proven wrong, it’s easy to grow some big blind spots. One must be explicitly on the watch for one’s own scholarly arrogance.

100% agree. I think Warren is a worthy addition to our body politic, but (for reasons explained above, not because “likability” or whatever) I don’t think she’s got the best wiring to lead a country.

I actually find her likable. To me she’s a much more likable version of Bernie Sanders. It’s the Bernie Sanders part (on policy issues and approach) that I have a problem with. Bernie was a know nothing on foreign affairs, and Warren sounded eerily similar to him. That’s my issue.

Mrs. Von Holst and I like her quite a bit, but we both tend to look upon her as a “one trick pony.” Same with Bernie.

For failure to see that the laws are faithfully executed.

I actually heard this morning while having my first cup of coffee that Jim Webb is offering up his services as Defense Secretary or is on some list for consideration. Sounds about right. Always hated that Dem in sheep’s clothing. He’ll fit right in imo. Said he wouldn’t vote for Hillary and considered voting for tRump as I recall. I may be misremembering however.

I hate Politico but here it is…

I mean, you gotta admit, the man makes a good point. Everything everywhere is awesome.
I guess I’ll go put on that MAGA hat my drunk uncle got me for Christmas.

I heard that too. Never saw what anyone else saw in him. At the debates, he was little more than an animated “mutter and grunt”.

I mean, I like her too. I only mean that a fair amount of Very Serious People seem to question whether or not Warren is likable, which as often as not is one code word away from “shrill”.

I wanted to emphasize that I think (I’d like to think) that my reasons for feeling lukewarm on Warren (or Sanders, for that matter) are thoughtful and considered ones.

Bolton seems to have been sidelined lately. He’s a war hawk that doesn’t fit in as neatly with Putin’s plans…I mean tRump’s.

Plus which bots don’t count no matter how much he misses them.

Same here. Especially w/r/t Warren. But with Bernie there’s a strong element of dislike. Always has been even before the primaries. A personality in search of a cult.

Get Kenny Ortega to direct, and hire Zach Ephron and Ross Lynch to star, and the Disney Channel would put it on the air as Teen Impeachment Movie!

We can have more than one reason (many, many more! big, strong reasons!) for feeling less-than-warm to Senator Sanders

Beschloss and folks like that will be compelled (by the historiography) to look at Sanders less than flatteringly.

Being an ideologue. Bernie is not (nor will be) aware of that
