Discussion: Trump Wonders: How Do You Impeach A President Who's So Awesome?

You never had to suffer a Six Flags style musical venue? I remember one example, having to sit through a horrible rip off of Grease. Schlock was the word. The only good point is the theater was air conditioned.

Well, on the one hand, it would be stupid to attack without having the benefit of all the SCO’s work.

On the other hand, the more time Trump has in office, the more damage he and his minions achieve.

And on the third hand, what happens if Trump is forced out?

It’s just so pitiful. I’m sorry, I have nothing to contribute. I have 100% approval rating from my cats, Donald. How can inpeach?!

Had a discussion with my wife this morning about the curious  absence of things Mueller during the Drumpf-manufactured shutdown.

Of all Drumpf’s failings (and he has about 34,374 of them), he does have an instinct for media and media-driven impressions.

To me its the same as every morning: “Look At Me!! Look At Me!!”

He tries to set the agenda for the day with his inane tweets with less and less people actually giving a shit anymore.

The democrats should go ahead and impeach him on easily proven charges like extreme @$$holery and terminal stupidity, you only need his twitter feed to prove that.

If republicans in the senate feel like bailing him out fine, but they will have to defend their vote for @$$holeness and stupidity in their next election

“Let’s impeach him anyway! And then we’ll have tea.”

And Nixon also won 61% of the popular vote in that election!

Plus his opponent was a WWII pilot, whereas Trump’s opponent was … a girl!

I agree with Elizabeth Warren on some number of topics, but her relative inability to frame most discussions or geopolitical challenges as anything more nuanced than ‘noun, verb, Goldman Sachs’ does not particularly inspire me or draw my primary support.

Warren seems to know one Very Big Thing, and sees all of the complexities of the world around her through the lens of Very Big Thing. I would much prefer somebody who was less strident on their one Very Big Thing, and were more inclined to have little thing A, little thing B, little thing C, and the intellectual curiosity and humbleness to know some of their little things are wrong sometimes, sometimes A matters more, sometimes C matters more…

Now you made me do this.

We should demand that this be Trump’s 2020 campaign song.

Agreed, 100%. Force the Dotard into a defensive position. He flails at that every single time. Maintain the focus of the world’s attention on his malfeasance instead of responding to his distractions. He may believe himself to be a master negotiator, but he doesn’t have the mental capacity to negotiate the maze of issues constantly changing inside his own head. By focusing on the articles of impeachment and the reasons he is deserving of them, this in itself is a distraction for him, and his defense of himself reveals why those articles are so applicable to him. I can’t recall at the moment if it was Kamala Harris or even Michelle Obama that recommended such an offensive posture when dealing with this child. Regardless, full speed ahead!

Yes.

As has been noted before, that’s his only authentic talent.

Great post.

Drumpf, being mentally ill, is comfortable in a world of fantasy, a trait he has which is highly functional going forward.

Hitler was ordering phantom divisions to battle in the Final Days of spring 1945.

McConnell, however, is a different duck. McConnell wants money, judges and unassailable GOP hegemony for the rest of the century. He’ll use Drumpf.

But he would just as easily used a President Huntsman or President Romney.

That’s pretty much my take on her. But the thing is, as a POTUS you don’t have to be an expert in everything but you have to be conversant, have sharp political antennae and know who to listen to. She hasn’t learned that yet.

This somehow reminds me of the freshman Senator from Utah’s 47% comment.

Ike versus Mark Clark. Luckily we had Ike.
