Discussion: Trump Withdraws From Iran Nuclear Deal In Blow To US Allies

With Bolton on his team, and now Pompeo, Trump has some hard-liners & Netanyahu promoters influencing him. Bolton, in particular, may have issues with Islamophobia.

The idea is to first tank the Iran deal.

If Iran responds by re-starting its nuclear weapons program, then Trump has the excuse to attack Iran. You might call it a “pretext”.

Americans then rally 'round the flag and Trump’s political problems are solved.

Orange Moron talked about how Iran increased its defense budget by 40%, and its people are suffering. What the hell is happening here? Must check to see if the stock market has crashed. I hate this SOB and all his minions and enablers. Will we make it to July 4th or Veteran’s Day?

It’s times like this we need the main stream media to tell it like it is. We can’t count on them.

Tearing down what others have built, out of spite.

That’s all they’ve got.

Where’s the Trump Administration proposal for a better solution?

Oh, this is like healthcare. “Repeal the ACA and we got nothin’ to replace it.”

I am so angry right now I can barely see. He is an arrogant, ignorant POS that shouldn’t be allowed to work a light switch. We are much less safer than at anytime in my lifespan. I hate him. I hate his supporters. We are not ‘more alike than different’. We have nothing in common. This is not a win. This is another piece of destruction for our country.

Look at the President’s new National Security Advisor, John Bolton — Like Netanyahu in Israel, Bolton’s been saying recently (and for years) that the U.S. needs to bring about “regime change” in Iran. “Regime change” was ALSO Bolton’s prescription for Iraq, before our 2003 invasion there. How did that work out?

Iran may well resume its nuclear program if the U.S. tanks the Iran deal. That predictably might be used by Bolton, Pompeo & Trump to justify a push toward war with Iran.

Yup. Tearing down this deal, along with the other crap that the Trump administration has been engaged in, pretty much guarantees that Iran will restart its nuclear program. There is no Plan B, just as was the case with the Bush administration and North Korea.

I love the throw away “he’s open to renegotiating” like TPP and the Paris Accords… and how have those “renegotiations” been going… oh, yeah, no where.

TPP has left us behind and The Paris Climate Accords solider on without us. And now we look like duplicitous asshats that any deal with isn’t worth the paper it’s written on…

Even when other people try to offer alternatives to meet his “demands”, he doesn’t accept them, raises the bar, and then ultimately does what he probably wanted to do anyway. I’m sorry to say to the rest of the world that you just can’t deal with Trump. He’s probably now set back any hopes of coming up with any sort of deal with North Korea or just about anybody else. NEVER let anybody ever again say that “both sides are the same” and/or that elections don’t have MF consequences!

I watched it with the sound off, in a Vietnamese restaurant. Colin Cowherd was on the other screen. I had the bun with grilled chicken egg rolls. I think that’s how I can make it through this presidency.

America loves wars.

I am 62 years old, and America has been at war with somebody for most of my adult life. All of them were wars of aggression based on lies and propaganda; none were in self-defense.

America is not a peace-loving nation.

No worries - UK and Germany are apparently already on the phone with each other, planning the path forward without the US. We’ll be regretfully marginalized, but what choice do they have?

Sadly, this is what the world is coming to - we will be a second-rate nation going forward and it could be years before we recover our world standing, if ever.

To quote Nicholas Kristof, “This isn’t foreign policy, this is vandalism.”

Trump’s argument is full of lies and distortions. Why do I see another Iraq-like war coming?

This exposes one of the problems with the US media I noticed when I came to this country. The mainstream Press acts as a mouthpiece for the administation (whichever is in Office) in the beginning of any ‘conflict’. It is only later, when it becomes politically OK; do we start hearing the real stuff. Happened with the First Iraq War and for every subssequent foreign policy ‘conflict’ since then. I do not expect the mainstream press to give us the real stuff. Please start linking to BBC or German or French Media for news about the deal and what Iran is actually doing or not doing. We will start hearing ‘stories’ about the ‘perfidy’ of the Iranians real soon in the US media.

“In January, Trump ‘re-certified’ the Iran deal for another 120 days, but said it was for the last time”.

The recertification process is not a box on a form that’s checked to indicate whether the current U.S. President LIKES the deal or not.

It’s a “certification” whether Iran is complying with the deal. By all accounts, Iran is FULLY in compliance.

Refusing to certify what is manifestly the truth is a colossal misrepresentation, perhaps done in an effort to involve the U.S. in a war in the :Middle East.

–> Haven’t we seen this movie before?
