How comforting to know trump will “follow the law”. Do we also have assurance he will follow the oath of office as well?
So it’s going to be Yoo vs Christie for attorney general?
THIS is exactly the problem with a Trump candidacy. Both his supporters and he don’t realize that the FIRST reaction a President utters (I was going to use the term articulates, but then I remembered we’re talking about Trump) has very significant consequences. He doesn’t get to do a Rosanne Rosanadanna and say “Never mind” a day or so later and have the rest of the world say “That’s OK, no biggie.”
doesn’t need the military. just out-source it to the mercenary types.
In former election cycles a flip flop ended candidacies. Apparently trump can flip plop with the best of 'em and lose no skin. Weirdly strange election cycle this time around.
Add torture to the list of topics – healthcare, Planned Parenthood, gay marriage, abortion, guns, immigration, the GOP – on which Trump has pirouetted as he dances jovially toward the Republican nomination. So, I assume that all those rabidly ignorant Trump supporters believe that flip-flopping is an admirable quality. How else does one explain endorsing a man who feels two or three ways about each and every important topic?
Evidence? Or is that asking too much?
I think the word you want is pirouetting – I happened to use it myself in a similar comment not 10 minutes ago.
Even a smaller mouth. Look at how tiny those lips and that hole is.
He simply just walked back his ‘torture’ stance. Ummm, no.
It’s not like he was talking vegan over vegetarian or wind vs. solar, he was praising torture and there is no way to get back to here from there.
Dick the Asshole Cheney loves torture and George the Simpleton Bush allowed torture to happen on his watch and they are war criminals in waiting, despicable fucks that gamed the system harder than any fuck before them. Now, Ultra Hack Salesman Trump is selling torture but for a discount and BOGO on Tuesdays.
The reality beyond salesmanship is biting some Trump ass, some unbitten Trump ass and Donald is squirming, the new sensation is foreign and unknown and a value can not be placed on it. Trump, without a value is just a Chump with no where left to fail.
Trump reveals he has a pretty small dick after all.
From the BBC:
…
Mr Trump had indicated in a TV debate on Thursday he might order
troops to carry out water-boarding “and tougher” on terrorism suspects. On Friday, he said “as president I will be bound by laws”.
…
Am I to understand that Trump does NOT obey laws now because he isn’t President?
Trolls toss turds and run because they think actual evidence has a liberal bias. All they have are Fox News talking points.
For me, the biggest part of this story is that he didn’t have the guts to say it in public.
Guys like Trump lack the guts to ever admit error.
In this case, there’s no way to play the “…but the circumstances changed!” card,
since he was obnoxiously pro-torture less than 24 hours before.
His hope was to dump it under the radar on a Friday…
and hope that by the next time he can be questioned in public, he can slag it off as “old news.”
And, if they keep to form, most of the media will let him
(so society must count on Rubio
& Cruz
to remind folks of what a b.s. move this is)
good to know that trump, should he ever be elected to public office (he won’t), will follow the law. I’m sure he came to that conclusion after meeting with his legal counsel.
What I would like to know if ’ President ’ Trump would ask his ’ advisors ’ about their thoughts on any situation or just go at it like a bull in a china store ?
Why aren’t the media just releasing a timeline of his statements to highlight his pathological lying and reversing of statements? His soundbytes have a shelf life of one news cycle (at the most). Why isn’t this a thing yet?
Well, I for one am satisfied. All questions put to rest! That’s that, then! Right? Yes?
For years there’s been a steady flow of research on decision-making and the main conclusion is that even if you’re bright, informed, and adept at critical thinking, you’ll still base your decisions much more on emotions than you realize. That’s why people vote, against their self-interest, for candidates who push the right buttons. There is no rational reason to vote for Trump. He barely tries to articulate one. But the emotional side works for enough people. And no evidence-based argument will put a dent in it or even scuff the paint.
