Clownface Matt Lauer let Trump ramble on for what seemed like 15 minutes this morning. I am almost 68 years old but I put cartoons on rather than listen to his garbage. NBC could not find anyone with any intelligence or gravity to talk during such a solemn moment?

Police could strap a suspect to a gurney and force them to listen to continuous loops of Trump campaign rally rants. It would be permissible, for certainly the Geneva Conventions didn't foresee man would would capable of such inhumanity towards others taking this form.

I’m sure that American soldiers stationed abroad were delighted to hear Rump’s proclamation. Surely they’ll remember that every time they’re out on patrol somewhere.

Any military officer with the clout to speak out may very well be nearing retirement. If they push back against Trump it will piss off Fox News (there goes your contributor paycheck), Regnery Publishing (there goes your book contract) and the booking agents that slot speakers for the Wingnut Speaker’s Bureau. Better to bite your tongue than risk ruining your retirement gravy train.

The utter failure by arrogant Lauer and Guthrie on this is reprehensible to say the least:
A. They are giving Trump more free airtime, precisely what he wants. And thereby legitimizing him just as they do by ignoring confronting him on his blatant racism to the President and other minorities.
B. At no time did they point out to Trump that this was not an attack in the US nor has there been any talk about any threat made to the US.
Essentially, what Guthrie and Lauer are doing is effectively shilling for Trump.

There are multiple sectors of the oligarchy.
A sector of elites run the MSM. There are also other elite sectors. Just about all of them would be HORRIFIED of a Trump Presidency. Right now, as the CEO of CBS has stated, the MSM has made a killing on Trump. It might be a good idea to hold up on the Trump Circus before the national (and world) stability economic systems rely on get further damaged.
The man knows nothing about policy, foreign or domestic…not even from a “conservative” point of view.

Depending on which cartoon you have access to there are serious issues addressed. Find a set of Bugs Bunny cartoons or Pop Eye and you’ll see what I mean. I’m 66 and still love certain cartoons.

TPM hasn’t given it much play, but the interview Trump did yesterday with the Washington Post people makes it clear how he really is that ignorant. It serves his purposes to talk as if nobody knows “what’s going on” in regard to terrorism, but for his own part he’s almost entirely free of any but the most shockingly superficial awareness of anything. It’s not an act. You may find that hard to believe, but read the transcript (or listen to the audio, if you can stand that). The Posties had a polite hour-long conversation with him, thanked him, and then went and wrote that based on the interview they still believe it would be an incredible risk for the country to elect this creature President.
